Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Ill kill that Caleb Clarke rumor right now also bloke signed with NZRU til 2025 only club that looked like getting him were the bunnies because he is a fan of the club since he was a kid that fell through he signed back with RU
he is a different cat Caleb Clarke he marches to his own beat and not entirely happy with All Blacks telling him what to do

One thing I will say is the player turnover in one off-season is crazy, I thought within 3 years with the kids coming through we would get rid of the deadwood. Hats off to Sheens and the recruitment team they have brought in more talent to improve the squad than Madge did in 3 years in a single off-season, I cannot remember the Tigers making such a dramatic player turnaround ever. Also I do credit Madge for his signing of some of our younger brigade.
Madge signed the two biggest inclusions and he operated with no cap space. Unfair to apportion much blame on him. Chins dad and the CEO sunk us.

I tell you something you have been consistently positive and I've been consistently negative. Let's hope this continues.

There is no better feeling than being wrong in this situation.
Sheens, Marshall, Farah, Furner are still imo influential figures in rugby league. Farah and Marshall could have said no to WTs but they are here for the correct reasons. We're a very good club regardless of where we finished on the ladder in 22.

Agree 100 percent but there is no denying Sheens has brought in much more talent than Madge did in a single off-season, not swiping Madge he was trying to climb an icy mountain in Rollerblades here, but it is a compliment to Sheens and the rest of the recruitment team, the Tigers stigma of players not wanting to come seems to truly be dead.

I hope for his sake he turns it round. He looked a real talent 18 months ago and went backwards at a rapid speed.
This is one thing I love about rugby league in Australia. Guys can fail to make it yet still have the opportunity to play semi-professionally and work their way back the hard way. Most sports you are done if you fall out of a professional system.

It’s a start but the halves and backline still suck
Laurie - young and shows potential
Noff - at his best is NRL level
Centre spot vacant
Naden - inconsistent
Ken - good player but rumoured to be leaving and knee could be chronic
AD - thinks he’s worth a million $ 😂
Brooks - Will play behind a better platform than ever before and Api will take some pressure off him

That’s how I see it mate, few gaps there

Sure, I would like Penrith's forward pack or the Souths Burgess family to visit us.

Ain't happening, totally get your point.
Forwards LOVE playing with other forwards. The sharks got Gallen and Gallen pulled in people like Luke Lewis . Once they added Chris Heighington and others they were a real force to be reckoned with.... Forwards want to play with good forwards, you want to play with Gallen or Jason T. No one wants to be the Josh Jackson and carry your team.

Yet we ain't going to get 6-8 Rep quality forwards, not now and not for a fair few years. 6-8 rep quality forwards don't join teams coming 16th.

Manly seem to make the finals off 2-3 Outstanding forwards and then lift 2-3 mediocre forwards to rep levels. Likewise Souths in the last two years, without the Burgess brothers seem to find 3 average players and raise them up. Easts too, pick up the cap dregs and turn them into good tacklers and tackle machines.

Our forward pack for 2022 and 2021 was actually looking strong on paper.

Okay so my bloody point. We won't be getting 6-8 rep quality forwards. Brooks will get the forward pack we have OR maybe one with 1-2 quality forwards. If Brooks can't make the team or function as a halfback with what we got, he has to go!

I hate to say it, we let the wrong player go.

The king is back time for some bombs
- John Bateman signed
- Moses set to sign a 3 year deal starting in 2024 with a promise that Brooks will be there when he arrives
- Luke Thompson 50/50 to return to Australia
- Sheens found Douehis 900k price tag laughable
- Woods a potential signing
is the 23yr old ,hothead we were chasing ,coming to Oz with Bateman,

But Madge signed Api and Papali’i. When he finally had some cash. His signing attempts like Mitchell and Addo- Carr were always doomed because they completely emptied the till.
