Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Agreed - Elias brought with him the skills of a halfback to the hooker forward role. Farah continued the line of very talented hookers with halfback skills at WTs. Koroisau is similar as well.

Let's hope Farah is working with our young hookers to have them develop a kicking game. It takes the pressure off the halves and offers another focus of attack.
I remember when Elias came into 1st gde, Ian Walsh, test hooker and i think captain of Saints, in the days when hookers hooked , and then just plodded up the middle, said that he would be lucky to last 6 games. He revolutionised the game, and the rest is history, As Turvey Mortimer the test and Canterbury half said, he is one of the best footballers he ever played with.

He was on the outer and all over the shop well before then....
Since he re-signed on.

Didn't get as much money as he thought he deserved on the back of playing Origin maybe,
coupled with not getting played.
To be fair, Arthur has taken the Ray Stone, Will Smith spot.

Matterson has taken Browns.
Browny has no one to blame but himself.... He let him take it and didn't hook in to get it back.
Went back to reserves and didn't give a real good showing there either.

Stood up in the WC for Italy...
Dinted pride can do that to a man.
You must follow him very very closely... BTW it's 'dented'

I like Simpkin i think he's got a lot to offer, the only way i'd entertain a swap Simpkin for Brown would be a yr loan for Simpkin (depending on his contract situation) and Brown gets released or loaned to us for the season.
Then we can see how the two younger hookers are looking Rua and De Silva and weigh up our options from there. Be a similar thing for what we did with Grant and Momo.

So what you are stating is that this guy, who plays in the toughest position, in the toughest comp in the world, is merely pretending to be tough? Hes a tryhard tough guy? Is that your story lol?...
No, that's not my story, that's a story you just made up either to try to prove your point or because you can't read. Who said he's pretending? I'll simplify it for you... In the toughest position in the toughest comp, he's not the toughest, not even close.

IMHO, we need an utility player on the bench to cover Koroisau, and optionally 2nd rower/lock position.
Rua is suited for that role better than Simpkin, and it would be opportune to loan him for 1yr, especially if we can get a player we need e.g. half, 2nd rower, prop.

I'm not sure if it is to Rua or Simpkin but we need one of them on the bench and potentially an edge forward or outside back coverage.
