Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I still have a question mark over him in big games. Failed in his only origin and now faltered in the finals a few years running. Take away his international forward pack and what exactly are you signing?
A calm, experienced player who has a good running and great kicking game (both in general and for goal), something we continually don’t address.
As I’ve said before, think about recent games where we could have extended a lead, or closed a gap, but missed crucial goal kicks.
And I think they believe in getting the Moses/ Brooks combo back in business, and also his Lebanon connection with AD.
Lots of positives but it’s a lotta dough.
But I remain firmly convinced he wants to come back and achieve something for the club.

His goal kicking would certainly be handy. Not sure I agree that he’s calm (have seen him call teammate c$&@s) or that his running game would be great in a lesser team. I guess we’ll see how it pans out.

Hard to say mate, We banked on so many of them over such a long time
just for them to fizzle into nothing...

Mikaele, Felise, Sue, Sitaleki, Lovett, Lodge, Liolevave etc.....
All top 30 decent contracts and not much coming of them.
No Gallen / Lewis / Bromwich type alpha males in the room. We had Sharon as a pack leader followed by nobody.

Twal is a highly effective but not an efficient tackler - which is excellent if you're a back!

He hits and sticks - but rarely halts momentum until a 2nd/3rd defender join him.

Forwards need more shoulder and grunt in their defence - Pole for instance has great technique & is far more efficient in that he needs less support to hit/stop the attacker and complete the tackle.

(Plus he'll tickle some ribs along the way unlike Twal who is all chest and arms in the tackle!)
If they can't offload and they don't break records in play the ball area he is an effective and efficient defender ...having 6 ribs rearrangers might be nice in defence but you still someone who can help control the speed and effectiveness of the play the ball
I think the quicker we as fans start to realise that post contact metres mean jack without a fast play the ball the better

Any idea which club has the fastest play the balls and 2nd least post contact metres ....Penrith ....

That name calling thing was a few years ago now....
Even when he messes up, He doesn't seem to carry on like he used to -
Just sucks it up....

Ran OK for Lebanon against the best team in the world....
Surely that translates to something in the NRL.

If coming to us took him from a top 4 team to a top 8 team, I'm sure we'd swallow that.
My issue is not signing him, it’s the $ cost versus the return.

Origin wasn't his best game....
And he was beaten in the GF, But I don't know any team beats that Panthers team in the first 20 minutes that night.
I been thinking as much, But I thought he was good in the last game for Lebanon, Was on a hiding to nothing against the Kangaroos, - But got through plenty of work, Looked likely / dangerous when he touched the ball, and had a hand in their points. They were well beaten obviously, But I thought that was impressive from him....
He could have rolled his toes up and rung it in like a few others did, But he really took it to them.

You may not be buying the best half in the comp, But he's gotta be in the top 5....
Shit's all over DCE for mine.
Yeah he’s around that mark just below the top guys. But look at the DCE contract at Manly. And they’re similar ages. It’s a risk in my opinion.

Moses was obviously the better player when he played with Brooks. Just watch the 2016 highlights to see how creatively Moses set up so many tries.

I burned these highlights from my mind until your post. I was so salty when he left. I remember Ivan Cleary refused to release him because he was playing so well and he knew that our season would be over if we didn't have him. Ivan wouldn't let him leave because he was playing so well, so the bloke tanked so he could join another team.

A lot of these highlights are from the second half of 2016. He played so well for like 8 games straight.

Funnily enough, Ivan Cleary did the same thing to us lol.
