FIFA World Cup thread

Valiant effort all around. Thought if
we could just jag another goal we could have maybe held them out —
sent the game in to extra time, maybe
even penalties. Wasn't meant to be.
They did the nation proud well done

Good game and great effort by the boys.
We didn’t disgrace ourselves and in fact provided a challenge to no.3 in the world.
Results and composure the team, coach and players showed should demonstrate to us that there is great potential there and if handled properly, we should be able to build on that for the future of the game.

Yoss, it's the whole of the ball. So the whole sphere . . . not just the part that's on the ground.
The whole of the ball must be beyond the whole of the line.
So the best view will always be from directly above.
That ball, imho, was in. The goal stands. You can't see separation from the absolute edge of the sphere to the line.
My son refs soccer at a reasonable level and he agrees . . . if that counts for anything 🙂
Edit: You see it when they're taking corners. They place it so the part of the ball that's on the ground is actually outside the corner quadrant line marking. But the edge of the whole sphere would be just touching those markings if viewed from above.

I’ll defer to the more knowledgeable on this but it’s seems crazy to me!
