deck, he insisted on holding up the
ball carrier for so long, stubborn as.
We went from bad to worse in 3
years since he started out with us.
Everyone close to the group will
tell you that he lacked capacity to
make adjustments. He works well
with elite squads because he stays
out of the way for the most part.
Madge apologists and Sheens
haters need to spare us smh.
I agree on the point that Sheens
stood back and watch the shit show
unravel. I said it before but he let
Madge fall on his own sword and
was a key observer on all matters.
I liked Madge, he wore his heart on
his sleeve but his tenure is forgetful

Sorry Junior but I was happy for Madge to be moved on, but didn’t think it was ALL his fault,
*tigers had an abysmal cap situation since the Cleary debacle, that Madge had to work with/thru
•tigers had a selection panel driven by a an ex roosters recruitment manager (now gone for McDonald) and with interference by our chairman/sponsor (Noffa says thank you)

* Sheens decisions/achievements in 2022

+unable to secure Ciraldo after sacking Madge and no other plan in place, can’t imagine Gus or Politis being that dumb

+appointing Noddy (not noddys fault) instead of one of the better qualified assistant coaches,

+releasing players from an already injury riddled team, and

+publicly declaring his focus was on 2025.

The tigers will/should improve given the change in the tigers cap position, not because of Sheens but because of the quality players we can now afford.

Sheens has failed at Nth Qld, been sacked by the tigers previously and numerous Super League sides.

Since he sacked Madge he has signed 2 players on long term deals + reserve grade player from Penrith
Bateman who has struggled in super league for the past 2 years for abt $700,000 (yea I watch super league, hope he improves, definitely needs to on recent form)
David Klemmer on a reported $800,000 for 2023 then hopefully less for the next 2 years, but should be good
The Ferrari for $500,000 for one year

I don’t think anything above is factually incorrect, but it is just my opinion/observations

This is the first year since Cleary that the tigers have been competitive in the market and Sheens is just a very lucky boy to have this advantage when he is coach + head of football, a completely different scenario to Madge’s term in charge.

Mate, I don’t think anyone is hell bent on the past few years being “ALL Madges fault” or proclaiming “Sheens the messiah”.?
Madge inherited a dud gig, and Tim’s inherited a better one, agreed. That’s coaching 🤷‍♂️
Why the need to dwell on spilt milk?
Tim’s doing well with recruitment now and people are happy about it for obvious reasons.

When it comes to cap spend we have to remember that much of the cap increase has already been taken. All Players on long term or big money deals had 18% wage increases incorporated into their contracts. So much of the cap space has already been filled.
Sure the players on one year deals etc won't be included but there isn't suddenly millions of free room to manoeuvre for clubs with players under contract Long term.
Moses will already be on over a million next season at Parra as a result. I don't think 1.25 is enough for him to come to us, unless he's really had enough at the eels and doesn't want to be part of their rebuild

100% agreed here and that is my point. We have 2 halves in Brooks and AD... Plus Laurie could play 5/8.
No need for "depth" signing that is going to take up cap space and have potential recruits think they are NR #4 instead of NR #3.


Bateman is 29, 4 years means he is playing till he is 33.
Gallen retired at 38, which is super rare. Brett Hodgson I think was still playing in Britain at 37, but really 33/34 is the cutoff.

Yet I am reminded that Manly was trying to offload Marty Taupau at one point last year. Marty is 32 now, 32. He is still having massive impact on the line and still honestly cleaning up as a first grader. I suspect at 34, Taupau will still be pretty effective...

I have NO IDEA! I totally agree Merlot in his 3rd and 4th year he is a massive risk. My prediction is that British club will poach him, regardless of form.

If the team ends up improving over the first 2 years of his contract and a premiership window opens up, there will be no poaching him back to the UK as he will turn into Beyoncé and wanna put a ring on it.

Cleveland, which is bayside Brisbane. Don;t get to many games, owing to distance etc. Record all Tigers games,and watch live when i can. Watch a lot of other game as well,. It's good to get a perspective, of coaches tactics , and watch talented players in all sides. May get down to Sydney next year , and see the Tigers play with my family.

Can't remember the season but at some point Robbie and benji in 2012 turned on him too. Boy were they proven wrong.

Don't forget Lui our halfback who was with us to two top 4 finishes getting sacked in the 2012 pre season after belting his missus, we were never the same after that.

Madge got 3+ years and I apologise for thinking he should continue in 2022. Those asking him to quit were right.

But I'm not sold on Sheens just yet ...i remember 2012 .......he would of needed an alias to get out of the country ...he was roundly hated by many WT's supporters ...we were Premiership favourites and folded like a pack of cards .....

He has the signings ...now he has to find a way to get them to

1 Gel as a team
2 Improve the Juniors
3 Hope they stay

I remember 2012 well. It seemed 2011 we did incredibly well as we had Woods + Fifita on the existing team.

I remember people Booing Adam Blair. I get it, his signing did not exactly work for us and we did not change our style of play to work with him. It could have been a masterstroke.

Sheens did not get that the existing team was a very VERY tight knit team. Manly did fortress Manly and we wrecked ourselves. IT was also sad as O'dwyer and Woods were selected over Fifita, which makes total sense as sadly O'dwyer lost an arm...

I'm one of Brook's biggest critics, however I will be happy as a pig in mud if he plays well and wins us games this year, because it will mean the Tigers are winning

My criticism of him is based on him failing repeatedly in the past and doing so on massive coin.
