Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We'll see how much of a loss..
He's gone. It's been discussed
ad nauseam. You and @DGilly
should fire him off an "I miss
you" tweet lol. He's a Knight now
Just disagreeing with peoples opinions that gaining Klemmer was worth losing Hastings.

Reminds me of when we lost Harry Grant and everyone said Liddle was just as good in the preseason … that worked out well for us.

Hastings cops some on here for simply not being wanted by incoming coach - don't get it especiallybafter he represented us pretty well. Why some seem to be death riding him as a result of another club snapping him up as soon as they realised he was available seems petty.

I'm guessing you mean Penrith. I have noticed in a lot of their games they don't fight to stay up in the tackle - if they can they drop straight away so they can get a quick play the ball. What annoys me is these are the same tactics we used in 2005 and suddenly it was called surrendering in the tackle and the defence was allowed to keep you down. Apparently nowadays only certain teams get pinged for dropping in the tackle.
I Think they struggle so they land on their fronts ......that is the difference from what I see

We Never had Harry...

Our side is not overrun with quality inside and outside back options (at present). There is room for Moses (hopefully) and Brooks in the halves plus Doueihi in the centres (if he wants to be a part of our team).
I think it's time that someone made a comment about player attitude and entitlement. What's happened to the game that we now have players believing that they should only play in their favourite position. Guys demanding to play fullback or, in our situation, either halfback (Hastings) or five eighth (Douehi) is ridiculous when they're paid good money to do a job for their team in whichever position the coach sees fit. Call me old fashioned but this crap needs to stop. If the player doesn't like the position assigned to them, which the coach believes is best for the team, let them sulk in reserves! It should never lead to a player agitating for a release but, of course we know it's starting to become common practice.

I think Fitzy was the best winger of all time. Can anyone remember Clint Robinson. He had some toe but I think he suffered from injuries and his career was cut short.

I think To'o is a lot better than JAC today. The metres he gets are unreal plus he finishes as well as anyone.
I remember Clint Robinson. Smallish in stature but talented, fast and tough. His career was was wrecked by a series of injuries. Regarding the best current winger, it's a difficult debate between JAC and To'o and everyone has their own swing on it. JAC is the most stylish and exciting of the two, a pure finisher with devastating speed and broken field ability. On the end of an Australian backline I would probably prefer him. But, in terms of overall contribution to a club team, I think To'o provides more. Excellent finisher but also an absolute machine with his runs out of his end or as an extra forward taking hit ups. JAC's defence has improved but is probably slightly below To'o's although he is better than To'o in the air. It's true that it's easier to shine in a good side but To'o is a reason that other players excel at Penrith. He gets his team on the front foot.
