Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I wish Sheen's could have gotten more out of John Morris maybe he should have asked Matthew John's for help again like he did in 2005
Johhny Cronk was a decent player, a thorough professional, he just wasn't a half, he never missed a game with us, just another player Sheens misused, he could have done a real good job for us if used correctly

Problem was, Sheens’s attempt at copying the Cronk model that Melbourne succeeded with, did not work and set us back for years.

I was thinking that a tim sheens typical half like Scott Prince, Robert lui very different attacking halves to cronk, Cleary. Scott and Robert were superior in attack but cronk and Nathan had the game plan skills.

Parra’s Instagram doesn’t have a single shot of him for months. That’s weird seeing as he is their best player.

Things are looking good.

I think the writing is on the wall, no contract to remain with your club takes this long. Either way he is leaving parra. Have heard through the vine… people very close to him say that he isn’t staying.

Decisions will be made soon.

Everyone seems to be bagging and saying that the Knights will finish behind us this year?
Just looking at their back 5, they look a lot better than our back 5…….thoughts?
  1. Kalyn Ponga
  2. Dom Young
  3. Dane Gagai
  4. Bradman Best
  5. Greg Marzhew
Ponga and parent, are a problem, Hastings with a strong personality and Ponga will cause many problems i imagine. Something pongs in Newcastle, they have underperformed in relation to their roster.

You know his dad was a used car salesman and I have heard stories about him getting younger players contacts a boys club or Ponga would not commit to the Knights alot of favourites up in Newcastle and his dad did the dirty on the Cowboys with Pongas original contract

Quite possibly. But as far as if the decision was a success or not, the proof is in the pudding, and the pudding is our performance, not the knights.
Guaranteed all next year people will be comparing Brooks vs Hastings. It’s gonna happen and I think it’s a fair assessment of whether our mgmt got it right or not.

One thing notable is Nofa being
left out of all promo clips & pics,
couldn't make Samoa might not
make WT starting 13, who knows
Irregardless, we have everything
it takes and no injuries going into
the new season. Love the direction
But could make the Storm side last year

Ricky Stuart and also Greg Alexander were a couple more of his halves. Both excellent players - Stuart a schemer while Alexander had that great attacking game.

Re Moses- Not getting my hopes up but I find it extremely hard to believe that if he was staying the club would have announced it by now and made a massive media storm about it.

I think @THE POM said his manager would advise this week of his decision, so fingers crossed he has picked us for 2024 and if that comes in, we then look for 2023

I've been hearing thru the vine as well. Coolabah 5 litre Traditional Dry Red in fact. In moderation of course.🍷It makes me 25 % more certain that MM is coming. The trouble is sometimes I'm 25 % less confident. 🍷
