I think he has talent in spades has a powerful running game tackles hard but for some reason lacking in confidence I hope he is not another wasted talented player or maybe it's a mental thing doesn't have enough personal drive but he has all the skills to succeed

A Fox Sports article dated 15/11/22 stated AD had put himself “ in the shop window” at an asking price of $900k per season.
It also came out ( elsewhere) that he has no manager and plans to do his own representation.

what the media got incorrect about Brooks was he was going to Newcastle, that my friend is proven to be incorrect...

As for AD it was rumoured he was asking for 900k and fact that he is representing himself. The OP was of the belief the "rumour" about AD was started on here, and absolutely not true it was in the media before it was on here

No we take everything with a grain of salt but there have been multiple sources stating both AD and Brooks are on good money and AD wants even better money.

So I think it's reasonable to assume Brooks is on about 1 million dollars this season and AD wants about 1 million dollars per season in his new contract.

No. He's very young but is a great talent. Fortunately, we have the coaching and development structures in place to give him the best chance of success. We need to continue to identify and retain all the best talent in the Campbelltown/Macarthur region as well as the Inner West.

Rothfield changed his mind on the amount last year, it went from 900k to 1.3 million then 1.1 million then back to 950k
So yes in relation to Brooks salary Rothfield was proven in media he didn't have a clue what it was

It seems Brooks' salary in the media is similar to the Reserve Bank announcements on interest rates. It usually rises and provides the ammunition for those on this forum to whack Brooks over the head with (at every opportunity).

All relative I guess, you are worth what a club is willing to pay
Probably important what position he wants to play in 2024 will dictate where he ends up.
It might have a smell a out It like Hastings wants to play 7 was told 13 he left
Potentially AD wants to play 6, maybe told to play centre and he signs elsewhere.

It's way too much money for what he has offered though. Same as Doueihi's contract expectations.

We don't know how much specifically but there is enough evidence he is overpaid. Sheens has even stated that he wants to re-sign Brooks on a reduced contract.

I disagree and I've been a fan. The problem with AD is that he hasn't proven himself in any position yet.

If he proves himself as a good running 6 than he is worth that money.

Laurie has performed about as well or maybe better at fullback than AD and there is no way he is worth that money.

Problem is you have to overpay in this market.

Also AD is in a different part of his career this contract needs to be a big one and probably in the position he wants to play in. AD asset is his utility value

This would be Brooks last contract so he might be more prepared to take a bit less who really knows.

C’mon Jedi… you know every time Brooks’ salary is mentioned in the media it cops a hammering by those who just think they’re guessing.
No matter what the correct figure is he is still our highest paid player.
Yet now we’re crucifying a guy who is ‘rumoured’ to have priced himself at $900k?
As for being an AD supporter?
Of course I am if he’s good for the team… as I am with Brooks.
My problem with Brooks is that he’s on halfback money but he’s not a halfback.
Should be at five eighth or in the centres where he doesn’t control the team.
