He has gotten worse and the excuses are ridiculous. I think the issue is though that he isn't that bad.

If he was that bad he would be gone. Instead he has been moved into more of a running half with Hastings as the controlling half.

Someone stated how Munster and Hughes are a good pairing and I view both of them as running halves. Maybe Brooks and Doueihi work.

I think we have 3 critical positions in the team that are filled currently by underperforming players. Those positions are fullback and the halves.
 
Im going to put an entirely different spin on this Brooks thread ...Plenty dishout on Luke and I have been guilty of it myself,but for years we have supported,abused,loved or hated him ...I honestly think that the core problem derives from the early years when he made his debut,playing with Tedesco,Woods and Moses was the future of the WTs..the problem I see is he should have switched to 5/8 and Moses to 7 very early on,however the big saga has always been that Luke is the next Joey Johns and therein lies the problem,none of the coaches ever tried to do different with him and this is the result we have now..Im not saying he wasnt a great young half before his debut and showed plenty of talent,but the big gig changes people and the pressure can be enormous to get results...
I suppose if you look at it and plenty of us have said it before,Luke is a running 5/8 and has showed some of that,Moses has a great kicking game and is a decent 7...so what Im saying is ""what if"" many years ago...

Brooks needs to be judged on his performances. I don't give him any excuses for his performances at any point in time. The team also need to be judged in the same way.

We should be judging every player on how they perform next year. It's a big roster change so there are plenty of guys to watch and see how they perform.

Brooks kicking game isn't as good as Moses and Brooks seems to make poor decisions under pressure.

I just think Brooks has to be the less dominant half. The problem is there are so few dominant halves in the game.

I used to love watching Andrew Johns play. Cleary has a fantastic kicking game and his defense is as good as I've seen but he doesn't have the skill-set Johns had.

Because he's done nothing to help the team despite those around him. He's never kicked us out of trouble, instead he'll put it out on the full or straight to the fullback putting us under further pressure. Then we do get some field position and opportunities he'll put it dead and give 7 tackle sets away or he'll butcher a chance by taking wrong options.

Those are the reasons why he's ridiculed.

You are spot on with your assumption. On top of that he is a non comunicator. The season is drawing upon us and my take is even with the much improved forward pack that nothing will change. My question to the Brooks supporters is will you still be gunning for him when he dishes up the same garbage now that you have a forward pack to now compete with the other teams.

What about when he won halfback of the year, I think that was way after his one good game debut, champ!!
Mate u need to get out to the orchards so u can earn a good career!

That was 5 years ago now. He then got his multi million dollar contract and has done absolutely nothing positive since

Just replying ti a cherry-picking comment without fact. I have said repeatedly that he hasn’t preformed well for a while. Unlike U lot I am prepared to wait and see how he plays behind a decent pack and better non boring coaching!
