I think there's a clear plan here.
Both off contract, both have been underwhelming - one quite longer than the other.
I think the coaching staff will see how both fire and then make a judgemental call.
One or the other , maybe both - maybe neither...
It'll be an interesting season nonetheless.
Contract season for both + Laurie.
That's bulk of the spine.

agree with that, if Brooks AD Laurie etc fire then they will have contracts if not they will not
Seems apparent eh.
They have a few rounds to show their skills and commitment.
I'm of belief at least 2 of the 3 will......
The one I think may not is Daino.
I think Staines will have too hunger and force the clubs hand on that #1 jersey.
All just a feeling though, could be way wrong.

I think with the forwards we have AD and Brooks will go well. Agree with Laurie it may be an attitude thing
Adam is such a strong competitor.
I hope he'll lift Brooksys spirit, just playing next to him - much like Hastings did.
Daino, could go either way.
Staines tho.... he wants it, imo.
He didn't come here to waste away in nsw cup
far from outstanding. Was maybe slightly above average attack and well below average defence.

Laurie is a good footballer and may need a little more enthusiasm. He is a natural ball player with speed to play in the halves or at fullback and will tackle. Imo he will continue to develop. Sheens comments on Brooks are in the public forum re post 2023 which would no doubt have the agreement of Marshall.

i think both AD and Brooks will benefit from space given to them by the forwards and hopefully second rowers who can tackle and help in defence.
I kind of wonder if we had a good fb like farnworth, etc you could work a spine with 7. Brooks 6. AD 9. Api 1. Farnworth in 2024 if Brooks and AD can take a price drop e.g. Brooks down to 700k AD staying at 650k or so

We weren’t getting the spoon until Sheens decided to tank 2022.
I wouldn’t be judging our recruitment for this year until there are results on the field.
I don't think many clubs will be lining up for either of em
You must be young and naive, nothing wrong with that ! But this is like all sports, nothing is definite, everything changes every minute, of every day. That's life !

To be fair to our halves of the last 5 years we have had the worst squad in the NRL. This season will show if Brooks or AD are any good
By round 8 if we aren't 5 from 8 we will need new halves.

It baffles me that you think this when Madge's results were definitely trending towards a spoon. It comes across as a kind of denial. We lost our first 5 games last year under Madge. We were stuck at the bottom because of Madge. There was spoon talk all year last year.

We were 13th when he was sacked. Madge was unsuccessful and there is no point discussing that any further, but we were much worse after he was sacked.
I’m hopeful this year will be better but time will tell.
