2023 Predictions

Time to get serious about the footy again!

Where will we finish?
What else will happen in 2023?

My predictions-

We will finish 10th and be in the mix up to the last month
We will win 3 in a row at some stage
We will lose 5 in a row at some stage
Sheens will never be wrong, Benji will "tell all" on fox 19 times, but it will be a pass mark in their first year

Elsewhere (this is based on nothing as I don't give a stuff about the rest of the NRL) -

Dragons and Knights will struggle
Dogs will return to the 8
Penrith will lose in a prelim to Melbourne
The rorters will be back to the GF

Biggest mover up the table will be Bulldogs - they play finals
Biggest mover down the table will be Raiders - they finish bottom 4
Wooden Spoon recipients will be Dragons

Agree on the drags. I have Hook as first coach sacked, but their board is so stupid that he might be safe.

With the player pay dispute and second qld team coming in is anyone concerned with where the NRL is heading?

NRL will make a move to make an even number of teams for 2024 .They will announce something mid season. Not sure if its to go to 18 teams or back to 16 .If its back to 16 it won't be the Dolphins being cut .

I think they will sit on 17 teams for 24 aswell

My prediction: The players will have no hope of standing over The Sheens, marshall and Farah show like they did with Madge a couple of years ago when he pushed them too hard. If we don't make the eight it won't have anything to do with a few sooks feathering their own nest, it will come down to bad luck or just not quite good enough..probably the best thing about Sheens dragging marshall and farah along for the ride.

They are 1 team away from being able to sell an extra game a week - I can't see the bean counters giving that up.

I think the panther will 3-peat.
Dolphins for the spoon. With about 3 games to go i think they will scrape through and gain their only win for the season, likely with a lot of help from the refs to prevent embarrassment for the NRL. I know people will tell me i'm crazy but i really don't rate unca wayne as a good coach in the modern game. And he has ruined the last 2 clubs he has left long term.
Tigers to finish 7th but get bundled out in the first round of finals.
Bulldogs to be a mess of egos all fighting to be the star with no real leadership.

Saints are spoon contenders for sure. Dolphins would be my pick.

The Tigers, so many moving pieces, new coaches, new players, players back from injuries, the progress of young attacking backs and forwards, hoping to step up. The halves and fullback--?
I would be happy with 10 th.
