Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

So that’s the Klemmer/Hastings player swap? How much did they get Hastings for then?
Klemmer was on the outer at Newcastle and I reckon we could have got him anyway.
Also seems pretty obvious now they didn’t want Brooks at anywhere near full freight and we wouldn’t kick in.
Love having Klemmer but can’t understand why we would give Newcastle a halfback for basically nothing.
Where does it say that? - Just another assumption with no factual evidence.

Milford has played in a grand final and lead teams into the finals. Yes he has issues and he is clearly no DCE/Cleary/Townsend/Hugues/etc.

Still, with Milford he has realised something in his career. Wayne Bennett will get the most out of him, as he does with many players.

I honestly thought the criticism would be around the JMK hooker or Sean O'Sullivan who is fairly unproven. Not saying it's a great spine, but it's one that can get the job done behind their pack.

I suspect Wayne is looking at the whole Moses drama and will make an offer to AD. (not a good one, but a fair one.).
Gee whiz crazycat, that is out of left field.

Moses manager squeezing club/s for everything he can get. With big dollars comes big expectations. I was all for it but now be content to focus on how the Brooks/ Douehi combo goes behind improved pack and without the distraction of what will or won't happen next season. Time for these two to show their worth and for the coaches to back up their decisions through improved individual performances.

We basically got Klemmer for free this year and your concerned.
Tigers would not have paid any to Knights for Hastings and if we got Klemmer for 400k that is a bargain. Hastings was on around 400-500k I believe as well. Very Smart business especially if we land Moses.

There are no leaks so how do we know what has or hasn't occurred?

Do we see a world where Doueihi stays on if we sign Moses for 2024?
I see a world where we keep one or the other of him and Brooks but prob lose Douehi if anything because he is worth more on the open market and our cap money for halves prob can't cover both Moses and Douehi but could Moses and Brooks

My guess is Hastings went with zero cost to us to guarantee his contract length. He's better than what they currently have and they were desperate for a halfback.

I like Jacko but if he went at zero cost to us and the Knights are footing half of Klemmer's contract for '23 that is shrewd business.

not if we sign Moses at 1.4 and Doueihi still wants 900K. If Doueihi earns an upgrade, Brooks doesn't and Doueihi is willing to take about 700K, yeah maybe. Not sure all those ifs will align

I get ur anger , but how can u bag the club , sheens has done a great job so far to rebuild a useless forward pack , but u can’t buy everyone in one season, we will shed more dead wood next year and hopefully bring in some class backs , so support the club while they continue to rebuild and if it fails then u can unload on them .
Totally agree with you.

I actually am in full support of the club offering Moses a 5 yr deal despite the risk in the latter years.

I also think the club is moving in the right direction - I don’t agree with everything like releasing Hastings instead of brooks but generally do think sheens is a vast improvement.

I was only pointing out that people on this forum constantly bashing Gus and the bulldogs is completely biased… if we had signed the people the dogs have we would be cheering and likewise if the dogs had signed klemmer and Bateman for 4 yrs and offered MM a 5 yr deal people on here would be bashing him.

I think the tigers are moving in the right direction and I think Gus is doing a a good job at the dogs - and they’re probably one and a half marquee players in front of us at the moment. (Burton, JAC, Mahoney, Kikau, Crichton…. Vs Korisaou, Paps, Bateman, Klem… extra half point bc they have more of a spine but if we get MM then I think we’re even.
