We don't get Klemmer for 400k without giving them something.
I am a massive Hastings fan and wanted to extend him but with his options to either stay here at 13 and get beat up each week OR go to Knights for a lot more and extended for 3 years it works for all parties. Clearly Sheens / Benji want to keep Brooks so it's a business decision and we made the most of it.
I do agree we should have had a better back up plan especially if we don't snag Moses but the club needed to make the call back then instead of waiting for Moses to decide and he still hasn't. Imagine we waited for Moses to decide we would have missed Klemmer and most like Bateman as well.
I think we won't get Moses (hope we do) but I also think we have a way better team this year and the halves of Brooks / AD / Daine L / Wakham etc will be fine behind the best pack we have had for like 10 years.

Scolari is a bundle of energy and never stops talkin on the pitch. He’s also clocking faster sprint times now than he was before his injury.

Moses manager asked questions of tigers to beef up the pack for 2024, we have done that with klemmer Papali Bateman Api.
In regards to halves pairing Moses is keen to play with Brooks hence Brooks was never ever going to Newcastle.
if we had kept Hastings we would be no chance of getting Moses, Brooks is a key draw card for Moses.
it will however cost us 300k more than Parramatta and the deal is for 4 years not 5

He's a Parra junior so....
300k more maybe but not on Salary cap. Would have to be 100-150k TPA in the offer. No way would you go over 1.25-1.3mill. not worth it

A fair bet but we needed klemmer more and the further it went the more chances of another team getting in for a trade.
Knights got something in return
Realistically what team wouldn’t take klemmer for the reported 400k

A 4 year deal worth close to $1.4mill per season (can't confirm but a 5 year may be a mutual option).
All "requirements" per his managements discussions have been met & our offer is better than the Eels.
Since Farnworth has informed other clubs of his intent to stay at Broncos the club has changed focus to Dominic Young, very early talk just gauging his price point.
Daine Laurie is looking likely to take up the current 1 year extension being offered, he wants 2 years or more but club not budging on this.
Talk of Seyfarth looking to move on is true, club happy to keep him for 2023 season but won't stand in his way of long term offer if it comes forward.
Laurie will be fullback round 1, Staines too quiet for Sheens liking & "needs to find his voice" to be any chance of taking the 1 off Laurie, Bula is nipping at their heels but a roster spot would need to be freed for him to play prior to round 10.
Club has also held talk with Fletcher Baker from the Roosters.
