Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The point of the deadline isn't to persuade the player to sign, it's to give the club a chance to pursue alternatives if they don't. What you're saying is, effectively, you've had this offer in front of you for X months and if you're still stalling to see if something better comes along we're going to have to assume the answer is no and move on.
There are now 17 teams in the competition. In a beat-up sportingnews.com online article yesterday, a cub reporter posted that MM was the most in-demand player in the NRL. He then listed the teams vying for his signature:

1: Weststigers - Apparently he has met officials and the offer has been made. Another meeting is due prior to the trials. blah blah blah.
2. Pawwa - MM is "testing the water elsewhere"
3. Dolphins "no formal offer" but "would be silly not to put forward an offer"
4. Dogs - also made the list despite no formal offer being made and noting that Gus had advised that the Dogs had other priorities.

So apparently MM is the most in-demand player in the NRL folks based on the fact that We offered more than Pawwa. The fact that no other team needs a 29-year-old (2024) overs laden 1/2 back should be a warning to the proponents of a long-term offer beyond 3 years.

Coming, or staying ? We are all in the same boat. But this close to the season starting, this must really be pissing off the the Eels club. Is he training? Multi million dollar clubs, sitting on their hands, and not being able to pursue other players, while this plays out. This is ludarcris.
The Nrl should put a time limit on negotiations.

The NRL really needs a TRADE WINDOW.

My suggestion is it should be over the off-season, with another small window around ORIGIN time for midseason trades). This would make player movements a little more secure throughout the year PLUS the added benefit of keeping media attention in the off-season. Win-win.

I believe I was called 'a pelican' and 'a toddler' for kindly delivering the scoop
Don’t take it to heart. I appreciate all scoops so keep posting.

I was being a little sarcastic because I found it hard to believe that Moses would contemplate (and I mean seriously ready to jump ship contemplate, not let’s see what they’re willing to pay contemplate) coming back to the tigers.

For what it’s worth the same source I’ve been posting on here about who works in membership - who up until now has been pretty spot on for those who can remember

He reckons it’s happening.... not 1000% but the whispers around the club is he’s coming back but just nothing signed as of yet - however that’s expected to change in the coming days

Apparently around 6-8 members of the squad have been in contact talks with Moses including Brooks and Ice (the main two)

The word around town is we’re offering around 200-300k more a season over a longer period - Moses went back to Parra to increase there offer and as it stands they haven’t budged

Also.... Parra have quietly been talking internally that if Moses did leave they want Stefano for 2023 and they’ll let him go

For what it’s worth both Benji and Sheens are scoffing at that idea and are happy to wait for 2024
