I thought 10 was Pole but now realise from your comments it was James.( these guys are all relatively new to me)
Yes, I thought he ran and tackled very well and so anyone who saw my 3-2-1 earlier swap James for Pole.
Can’t really agree with your comments re Stef, thought he had a dip and tried to get things moving forward.
Pardon my ignorance but is James home grown or an import ? ( yes, I know I’m a stupid old fart).
Aitasi James is a Parra junior, played in the same teams as Stef growing up.

They’re the same age, so James is 22/23.

Not one of the juniors.

Simpkin was strong in defence & liked that he was exploring his kicking game a bit more. Kepeoa ran well & looked strong & fit. Staines was in the right spot all night & was more involved in the attack than I thought he would be.

Talau looked rusty. Needs to commit in defence. Was made to look bad in a couple of spots but Wakeham left him exposed a bit too often too. Actually looked strong in cover defence more.

Too early to rely on them, but Tumeth, Reilly, Bula, Fainu, James & Peni looked to have some talent. Liked the brief exposure of Cameroux too.

Seyfarth looked as good/bad against the Warriors back-ups as he does against starting teams. Does that mean he plays to the level of the starters? I expected him to look more dominant against the back-ups though.

Realistically, only a handful of these guys are going to be relied on with any regularity- and they were all probably the ones that showed up best, so I'm ok with it.

A lot of Warriors points came directly on or just after mistakes. I would expect that once the starters come in, we see less of that sort of thing.

Utoikamanu was the best player on the field.

HM - James and Matamua

The thing I particularly liked about Matamua's second stint was that he turned his confidence around. The kid could have easily dropped his head but obviously got given instructions at ht to run first pass second. We saw a totally different footballer after that.

Fair dinkum, had this kid got his own publicity dept. I’m waiting to actually understand the hype.
Happy to have my face rubbed in the dirt but he doesn’t look anything super special, at this stage, to me.
And I’ve watched a lot of football over the years,

Ps I’m talking the 13

Good/strange to see so much more positive judgement of Seyfarth's performance in this thread.

Having been catching up on the live thread rather than watching the match, I got much more of the opposite opinion during the game. I expect that such was just the usual bias/prejudices playing out.

I think he was being judged harshly during the game thread after watching the game 3 times & watching him closer. Look he is a reserve grader and showed that this was his level. Wasn’t outstanding but when your team shows little you give points to those who did there job over stand out which he did

The hype is real but realistically he's still just a baby. Don't get me wrong he's got s lot to work on but that turn around was good to see.
He'll come good. Was only playing sgball last year let's not forget. Better judges than me have similar opinions.
