Koroisau to captain Wests Tigers

I’m happy enough with him being the leader on the field….but off it?
The bloke is a dickhead, pardon my bluntness. He is very immature and selfish. Maybe this appointment will make him grow up.

Not disputing or anything; I don't know him.

Just interested in how you formed your opinion: have you met him or heard things about him from reliable sources?

I really didn't care about his post gf tigers joke and wouldn't think your view would be based only on that.

FWIW, he was my first choice.

Also, I personally wouldn't have come close to considering Doueihi. I know I only see the tip of the iceberg, but to me I think he needs to grow up a bit and stop making demands for things he hasn't earned.

I don't doubt his passion, but in the last year he's (apparently) asked to play NSW Cup if he's not selected at 6, put himself on the open market for (apparently) $900k per year after only just coming back from a knee reco, and talked to the press about his desire to captain the team.

Is his passion really for the club or himself?

He may have a great year - and I really do hope he does. But in my eyes, I think he needs to get a full season of good form behind him, play wherever the fk the coach tells him to play and let his on field performances do the talking.

Sometimes ambitious young people can come across the wrong way, so maybe this is the case. Again, I've never met the guy.

He is still young and has plenty of time to earn everything he wants to. I just think he needs to mature a bit and/or get better advice.

Well AD is gonna be made to earn everything he wants, money/contract, respect and captaincy.
It will show what he’s really made of !
Would love to see him really focus and have a huge year !!
We are thread bare from 1 to7 , we need and hope the whole lot step up, or we will feel more pain this year.

Api, is a leader, and was always going to be the player to lead the side aroud, no matter who the captain is. The hooker today plays like another half, most plays originate from the hooker, and he has the respect to chastise his forwards and halves if they slacken off. A good choice.

I see it as he is an all or nothing guy.

Good call re Api as captain
Strange no vice captain or dual captain Where does that leave:
Brooks - No certainty past 2024 unless linked with Moses. Very quiet personality to be named captain
Douihie - No certainty to be here beyond 2024 in the halves. Came out and said wants captaincy and overlooked
Joffa - Maybe not a starter in 2023 hence not a captain, perhaps a bench forward

Looks like Api plays 80 minutes in 2023 ?

Api didn't play 80 at the Panthers hey

Mitch Kenny use to come on and take over for a bit.

Maybe that's the plan, 80 minute hooker.
I'm sure he can handle it.

I know not sure if Api can play 80 min ?
would be good to have that extra forward on the bench though.

Jedi, the captain does little in the game, take a kick or not? Argue with the ref call. Many can do this, but the main job is to inspire his team, and to kick arse when needed, you don't have to play 80 minutes. Wingers play 80 minutes, but are to remote from the play to influence the game. Klem or Joff could hold the fort i imagine.

I think if he wants to go cam Smith status he has to be an 80 minute player.

Don't know if it would burn him out or not.
