TEAM LIST Pre-season Challenge Round 2 vs. Raiders

Team List
AJ had feet for hands when he first came in, but he is already a better player than Talau will ever be.

I'm not going to write Talau off but it comes across to me as the coaching staff are hoping that Talau and Blore come good and become top quality first graders. My take is make them prove they are any good.

Blore has had a small injury recently.

Was training in the rehab group at the recent Field Day.

BAU - business as usual. He might be really good at some point but he needs to start playing regular footy.

Seyfarth started on the right edge in the opposed session that day, so am not surprised to see him there.

I just think it's a bit rough on him. Pole for instance looks great in the middle but I don't think he is an edge forward. Seyfarth to me is a workaholic lock.

I'm not really surprised he is picked there either but mainly because he is the most proven of the available players. I like Seyfarth. He goes all day and puts in. Yeah he gets smashed but he would get smashed in reserves as well. He would just go again. I love that attitude.

this list certainly offers some insights into Sheens thoughts.

it looks as if he's willing to look past Talau's defensive issues in favour of his attacking upside. while I think its the wrong call to make, we'll see how he looks up against Seb Kris this weekend, who will give him plenty to do. I think Talau will improve, but that said he's starting from a pretty low base.

might be looking into it a little too much considering Blore's recent niggles, but it looks as if he'll be on the bench on the entirety of the year for impact. I think its a good move. his ability to bend the line and whack the opposition in defence is a great thing for us.

Twal at 13 effectively means that he's holding it for Ofahengaue and that Matamua will have the time he needs in reserve grade to begin the year.

bench make-up for R1 (providing we're at full strength) looks like Simpkin/Staines, Twal, Pole and Blore. personally I reckon it has the potential to be the best bench in the comp. keen to see James and Simpkins go around and how they fare against a massive Raiders pack.

If we managed to score above 12 points we’ve done better than what I expect. Reckon final score will be Raiders 60 Tigers 12. We have no chance of winning.

Very surprised not to see Blore starting. Just precautionary or not training well?

Never expected much from him as a young guy coming off a serious injury but feels like we are holding him back a bit?

Precautionary.

Has been training in rehab group recently with another niggling injury.

Asu one of our strongest in the first trial and Talau one of the weakest. Mind boggling that Sheens and co rage Talau so high. Maybe one day but Asu and even Toa unlucky not to be given a shot with Talau starting. Hopefully they all get some minutes
I'd guess trial wouldn't have any bearings on Rd 1 team. They'd only look at training and form from previous season.

That’s what trials are for Earl, don’t join those that are on here panicking already

What a really, really dumb post. Have you been off your meds for long? Not ideal.
Mate look at the Raiders side and look at ours. That team can put 60 on us if they try hard enough. Unless our defence majorly improves compared to last week, they can get 60.
