Public servants' wages; teachers, nurses, police, etc. are all on a publicly-accessible salary structure. Executives of public companies are required to have published salaries. It is simply transparency.

I can't think of a legitimate argument against publishing all NRL salaries in full and feel it is simply preferring to keep the power of negotiating in the hands of the player managers (like Anasta). By keeping everyone in the dark, they can play clubs against each other and manipulate the player market and this would cripple their influence.

And that's EXACTLY why it should happen.

Additionally, I think the carry on about the NrL being in Nick's pocket and to scared to act is also not true. There were big shots with links to the NRL when Melbourne were brought down and when Bulldogs were. I just think the NRL is powerless to act without any evidence and they have shown an inability to find any without a whistleblower.

Funny thing is Anasta on 360 was saying guys take unders to go there because of the networking available for future work in the media or business. But I thought 1. Players wernt allowed to be signed for massive unders and 2. Any income generated outside the game as a result of a players contract is all included in the salary cap. So if player A signs for 300k under value because a board member promised them a career in the media after they retire it should all be included and details disclosed in the salary cap. Thats what Pasco got pinged for for Robbie, not disclosing the contract offer once he retired. Having the contract off site.

Players typically have a minimum value set on them. That minimum value would be massive unders on what they would be worth on an open market. So they can still take what fans would perceive as unders.
Networking opportunities is not the same as a job offer. You still need to be capable of using those contacts.
I don't doubt the Rooster's are doing some dodgy stuff. But what you have eluded to is not a breach.

Where this does come into effect, *I think*, is his not knowing he was predisposed to extremely adverse effects of certain drugs most others aren't.

Some people can smoke weed their whole lives and be fine. A small percentage could do it a bit and it can mess them up.

I'm a bit surprised with this. I thought mushrooms were basically one of the safest drugs you could take. Alcohol is one of the worst.

I had a friend years ago who developed schizophrenia. Alcohol was his drug of choice. I don't think any sort of substance was safe though in his condition.

You are right but only because they are incompetent. Make salaries public. Make a system where players can get max salaries or something.

They get it to work in other competitions.

What about boots and clothing sponsors? they are 3rd party deals....what about drinks deals, watches, cars, Lowes...all 3rd party deals.

How can you stop someone from receiving sponsorship if a company is willing to pay?

Dont stop just published it so when a 15 million dollar team beats a 10 million dollar team it's not as embarrassing for them and all the B/S about I am not going or staying for the money I am taking unders love the eastern suburbs

The NRL will never do anything that makes their own organisation look poor or inefective unless it is about to be exposed by the media.However while the Murdoch media which is by far the largest in the country has an interest in the continuation of the game for it's own benefit nothing will change.Sadly money and vested interests run the game i love.

depression and PTSD in patients...
