Presser bulldogs

How do people take what sheens said or more didn’t say about hooking Nofa?

Am I hearing correctly that he was more filthy at Staines not being vocal enough at fullback?

Was it

a) hooking Nofa because he did nothing

b) hooking AD from 6 because he was woeful but preferring him on the field at 1 and Staines on the wing?

c) hooking Staines from fullback and replacing with AD but knowing that Staines is better on the wing than Nofo?

Personally I thought Staines looked way better than Laurie ever did at fullback, but from the presser sounded like AD is going to be fullback for portions of most games from now on.

Sorry just on that

“Things weren’t working for us - so I pushed Adam back there. I’m not saying he was a superstar for us but he settled us down a bit. He dominates the calls so he may get a bit more time there.”

I actually thought AD was puss at fullback as well.

It's Staines fault that he wasn't vocal enough at fullback when the Dogs scored off Doueihi's pass, or Doueihi's arm grab on Kikau, or when we fumbled off a kick deep in their half.

All the fullbacks fault, spare me...
Agree that’s why I’m so bewildered at the call. I do remember I think it was @KingRobbie memtioned preseason that Laurie was getting the nod over Staines because sheens didn’t think Staines was vocal enough. (Sorry if I got the wrong poster)

Maybe Sheens hooking Nofa put the wind up some of the bludgers that are pretending to be footballers.

None of these changes would have been necessary if Adam had of sat the week out with his injury. He didn’t train all week. Why throw him in on game day, then move two other players during the game to accomodate a very late move for him at the back?

I have got a feeling Benji is our coach here….

I can not agree as making 2 or 3 positional changes to get someone on the field is vintage Sheens.

Really? I reckon that train wreck has Sheens' prints all over it. Make three changes to one strengthen one position and weaken two others.

I don’t know why we all expected anything like commonsense from Sheens. He has a long history of making some really weird decisions and atrocious positional changes with players in his teams. We suffered from it for years and now here he is back again - older and even more bewildering than ever. I honestly don’t know what it is that he sees when he watches matches.

Nothing to do with Staines not being vocal. Is more about trying to get Wakeham in the game. If anything Staines failed to chase hard on one of the addo carr tries, he may have been gassed or hurt but yeah this was about Wakeham.

Watched all of Tims press conferences this season. He gets very little credit from this fan base for trying to take the focus and the pressure off the players. He uses the ref, the heat etc. Its easy to think its about making excuses but just like the refusal to comment on the selections and interchange decisions he is taking the focus away from the players. Trying to show them support.

I remember Taylor throwing players under the bus. Madge did the same in his own way. The both lost the dressing sheds.

Bennett is a master of it but Sheens knows how to talk to the media for the betterment of his squad.

I think sheens as a coach is very respected amoungst the journalists and the won’t even ask the same sorts of questions they would ask other coaches. I am a little nervous about they way Benji might be pushed around by the media when it’s his turn. He just has a very matey kind of relationship with them and will be exploited. (Obviously Marshall is well liked and media trained but I think it’s a little different sitting there as a coach rather than the captain)

Not sure if it’s Sheens or Benji who made the call, but I’m glad someone has done it this early as opposed to waiting til round 16.The proof is there for everyone to see now.Interesting to see what team they run with.
