Presser bulldogs

Sorry just on that

“Things weren’t working for us - so I pushed Adam back there. I’m not saying he was a superstar for us but he settled us down a bit. He dominates the calls so he may get a bit more time there.”

I actually thought AD was puss at fullback as well.
Well Burton went straight through him and then he dropped the ball returning it. Certainly didn’t do anything from fb. He just had a shocker from go to whoa. Maybe he was carrying an injury but if he was he shouldn’t have played. Let’s see what happens this week.

Watched all of Tims press conferences this season. He gets very little credit from this fan base for trying to take the focus and the pressure off the players. He uses the ref, the heat etc. Its easy to think its about making excuses but just like the refusal to comment on the selections and interchange decisions he is taking the focus away from the players. Trying to show them support.

I remember Taylor throwing players under the bus. Madge did the same in his own way. The both lost the dressing sheds.

Bennett is a master of it but Sheens knows how to talk to the media for the betterment of his squad.
I think Madge questioned the team performance a couple of times, and it was warranted a lot more than those few times. Bellyache doesn’t have a problem with calling out poor performance. They don’t name individuals but question the team application/effort. The first 3 weeks this year the effort has been there but not the skill or execution.

Didn’t Bellamy state the care factor amongst his players seemed very low?
Nothing wrong with giving the players a kick in the arse.
Unfortunately we have them this weekend🤣

I think Sheenius is more interested in taking the pressure off himself & his lackeys

I don’t know why we all expected anything like commonsense from Sheens. He has a long history of making some really weird decisions and atrocious positional changes with players in his teams. We suffered from it for years and now here he is back again - older and even more bewildering than ever. I honestly don’t know what it is that he sees when he watches matches.
I didn't expect it. I knew exactly what was going to happen when he was confirmed. A lot of fans did.

How do people take what sheens said or more didn’t say about hooking Nofa?

Am I hearing correctly that he was more filthy at Staines not being vocal enough at fullback?

Was it

a) hooking Nofa because he did nothing

b) hooking AD from 6 because he was woeful but preferring him on the field at 1 and Staines on the wing?

c) hooking Staines from fullback and replacing with AD but knowing that Staines is better on the wing than Nofo?

Personally I thought Staines looked way better than Laurie ever did at fullback, but from the presser sounded like AD is going to be fullback for portions of most games from now on.

Or
d) hooking Staines from fullback because wasnt happy with staines effort.

I did notice on one of those runaway tries staines could have saved it if he had put in some effort on the chase.
Of course i could be wrong.

By the time the attacking player gets to your fullback after breaking through the middle of the defence you’re more than likely buggered anyway. I’d rather AD’s shit defence at the back than in the line. It’s the lesser of two evils I reckon. I laughed at that fumble AD had running the ball back yesterday. You’re right, was shocking

I wonder if dominates the calls is actually a reference to our attack, not our defence. Doueihi dominates the calls meaning Doueihi is the one given the responsibility of calling our attacking structures. We cant remove him from the field completely because we either havent prepared or dont trust the other halves to do so.

That was my interpretation from Sheens comments as well.

surely, if so, this should be seen as a huge mistake by Sheens. As limited as Brooks is as an organiser he is well ahead of Doueihi

Guess we will find out.
Think he is grasping to be honest to work out how AD fits in hope he finds some form.

Klemmer run was just all Klemmer
Brooks try was off a Tupou run and flick (fluke type)
Pole try was a ruck play which Brooks ran off Api (suspect Api called it as he moved one way with Brooks bolting on the inside).

For last 9mins we went dead pan away from the middle. Didn’t see much of a difference of AD impact at the back.

Unfortunately Sheens seems to have irritated some of the key players in the media - Fox Sports and the NRL Gossip show. They are latching on to anything at the moment to criticise him. Holding Bateman off for example (which was perfectly reasonable). Don't get me wrong, serious questions have to be asked about the performance of the team, but this is much better done without clickbait headlines and the personal grievances of Kent et al.
