Brandon Wakeham #267

I don't think he's a world beater but unlike our other halves he seems to be able to actually spot and take advantage of any gaps in our opposition as long as we keep getting good meters that is enough
I think he just plays like a half should and unfortunately Brooks stopped doing that a long time ago. I for one hope that Wakeham partially fills the breach we were looking for from Moses, that is to reinvigorate Brooks love of the game. It was good to see him score that try and then dummy and split the defence b4 setting Staines. That’s what we’ve been aching for Luke, get out and play some heads up footy.
I’m really hopeful our A class pack this week can give these guys some more opportunities.

Future joey this kid
With all due respect let’s not burden another half with that tag. It was the worst thing that ever happened to Brooks and I wouldn’t wish it on Wakeham.
I’ll be happy if he’s just a future Wakeham who we can rely on to get the backline moving( and scores about 200 points) a season with an 85% goal kicking average.
That will do me fine.

Played well. He Actually ventured to the left side of the field and combined well with brooks.

he makes us play more direct, this sideways passing rubbish isn't getting us anywhere
See I think we have a game plan that might work without Brooks. I just cannot trust Brooks to execute anything after the last 10 years. We need players working with Api, and I just don't see Brooks being smart/aware enough.

As long as Wake & Bake is there at the expense of either Doueihi or Brooks I'm OK with it.

We pantsed the Raiders with him there in the trials, and the other two haven't been able to get the job done together since. Process of elimination suggests that Wakeham is the one that needs be there. If Brooks performs better outside of him then that's a bonus.

Interesting to note that Freddie Filter had big wraps on Wakeham when he was a schoolboy. Coming through at the same time as Haas and Big Stef and apparently led Westfield to the trophy in the halves. Freddie said he was the standout.

Didn't kick on at the Bulldogs but might be an uncut gem that may just come good. Already shown hints I. The trial and vs Bulldogs.
