Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

At the end of the year with the Newcastle negotiations the club and brooks management came to the agreement that if he didn't leave the club for Newcastle that Brooks would be guaranteed to be at the club in 2024 brooks isn't going anywhere soon
If a formal contract hasnt been signed, a guarantee means nothing. Yes, certainly if Brooks form permts it yes, but at the moment his form stinks. If they did a Heads of Agreement so loved by Hagi, it means nothing in real life beyond an intent, as it didnt help us get JAC did it?

Edit- the club has to make hard decisions based on form and demonstrated ability- especially for a veteran of so many years. No more potential for players of that length of service against actual performance.

If that’s true whoever agreed to it should be shown the door because, on current and long term form, if he is here it will be in reggies.

if they gave AD the 1 year extension seems like Brooks will likely get the same which would take both past Sheens tenure as coach and allow benji a clean slate. Would also give the club a chance at Williams in 2025

Why didn't didn't WT go hard for Lachlan Miller and Braydon Trindall from the Sharks???

Happy not to sign Pearce and say goodbye to Brooks and AD after this season.

Surely there is some halves in other clubs not getting a go that will be better than Pearce and Brooks?

Trindall, Taaffe, Hawkins, Volkers would be worth considering as long term solutions,

Talking to a old friend today who came through the Raiders system.

He reckons he heard;

Wighton > Parra
Brooks > Raiders

* I dont believe everything i hear.

I reckon the Wighton to Parra thing could have legs - But they just won't be able to pay him.....
(Be an Origin prop up for grabs soon I'm thinking)
Their centres are shot, And have been for some time.... Blake off contract and generally hated in the position.

They've got too much money in Props I think and may be looking to change it up....
They're not getting a better FB than Gutho at this point.
He's the coaches love child, The backbone of the side, The captain - And not going anywhere....

Whatever they do, Will be around him playing at the back.

Because Sheens said in the off season that he's very happy with his spine for 2023. It's taken him 3 rounds to realise what most already knew.

He also said Laurie is the number 1 fullback with Staines backing him up. Now he's saying Doueihi is our best fullback.

Sheens should have stayed in retirement. Next he will asking for Mullins, Big Mal, Daley, Stuart and Clyde to come out of retirement so he can relive his glory Green Machine Days,
