TEAM LIST Round 6 vs. Eels

Watch last weeks NRL highlights. For every try that is set up by halves there is one that is just individual brilliance. We lack both.

If we were scoring from good ball play combinations we'd probaby be 4/5. Individual brilliance is nice but structure, good defence and a bit of luck wins games

There are 2 ex Kangaroo fullbacks, Billy Slater & our very own Tim Brasher, that both say the best option at fullback is Daine Laurie. But what would they know about the position. 🤔

I am sure Sheens wil lfind a spot we have him signed for 2024 lol have to play him somewhere by default

I would prefer to have Doueihi and Wakeham in the halves or Doueihi at centre.

point is he never said Brooks was best 7 at the club...
he did say AD was best fullback at the club then a weak later moved back to 6.

If we had a depth chart he would also be our second best 5/8.

Trouble is our best 5/8 is playing halfback because he is clearly our best halfback.

They both would catch the ball on the full, work hard in defence and follow the ball carrier. Might be the best option but just shows we don't have a fullback

Now Earl, you know how I feel about Joffa so please elaborate on why he “had to come back into the team” and what he will bring ? Line breaks, 100m plus yardage, tackling, draw and pass to put people into gaps ?
And you know he’s done virtually nothing in his NRL appearances this year.

It sounds like you just don’t like him, but anyway:

Plenty of minutes (60+ IIRC), 30 tackles, 3 tackle breaks, 2 offloads, and 240 metres against a decent Warriors side last week in NSW Cup.

Looks like he’s back to (or close enough to) full fitness.

It’s got possibilities Susie, but what about the Fiji national team at the WC , halves were Korisau and Wakeham, that’s probably worth a shot as well. After all, wasnt it Api who recommended Wakeham to TS ?
I think we can see that Laurie is on the outer at present and not sure how he will come back,

Hawkins goes OK and is a big upgrade on wakeham
Brooks can then cover 6 on a reduced contract.
Go out and try and buy Welsby for fullback

Wakeham is dreadful. That 20 minute stint against the Dogs was an anomaly caused by extreme heat. Easy to come on as a fresh player when everyone is beyond exhausted.

Then land Hawkins.
It just gets worse.

See simpkin or laurie been mentioned alot but have either of them played in that position before?
