Commemorative jersey

Im just saying the whole process was done in conjunction with Holsworthy, Bateman was even photographed there. Surely someone from the ADF had to approve it. If it's our fault, flog us for it, but I'm not sure it 100% is.

Yea I see what you mean but my guess is they just took those photos at the base.

“The collaboration with Holsworthy Army Barracks reflects Wests Tigers' commitment to the local community and its support for the Australian Defence Force.

The club has worked closely with the Holsworthy Army Barracks to launch this jersey, further strengthening its ties to the local community.”

A level of blame, it’s a question you should be raising when approving this jersey.
But to be fair, it shouldn’t even need to be asked as you would assume they would use a god damn Australian image.

Such a WT thing to do 🤡

I can tell you from working with marketing and communication teams a lot, that statement has been crafted to handle a casual perusal and if questioned, allow enough outs and plausible deniability.

“Worked closely” in what way? Collaboration? On what particularly? Finish it with a non quantifiable statement “ strengthen ties” it’s all shit.

I’m certain this is just the stock image and based on nothing now.

Grabbing a stock photo from Google for $120 was 'working closely'?

No one spins stuff like Pascoe...

Surely they could have bought a photo of actual Aus soldiers / paid something to the ADF for a uniquely Aus photo and done it properly?

Every image i can find seems to have a slouch / bush had for Aussies in the conflict.

No Wests, no. Please tell me someone did one second of research.
Did Pascoe sell them the hats?

Man I hope the grumblings that they used American troops on the front image are not correct.

Imagine how embarrassing it would be if the club in their ineptness picked a stock image of AMERICAN service people to pay tribute to the ADF.
Ha ha ha wow 🤣 knowing that Benji is a two time premiership winner once at the Tiger's once at the Dragon's there is a good chance it is anything else would not be consistent in the Tiger's style

I just came here to say I don't care and I never buy the ANZAC jerseys anyway. I prefer the indigenous ones.

Most likely it was farmed out to a graphic designer to design something that works well when overlaid on a jersey with our colouring.

It’s not an actual photo, but a digital creation as Tucker pointed out.

Statement from the club to Fox League:

Wests Tigers has collaborated with Holsworthy Army Barracks, who have sighted and approved all collateral relating to the release of this jersey.

The soldiers on the jersey simply depict the modern-day soldier serving in a desert environment.

The image in question, which is a stock image, has been purchased under license by our official apparel partner.

The final design was approved by NRL Licensing.

The military camouflage pattern above the chevron on the jersey is an authentic replica of the Australian Army camouflage that has been digitalised and grey-scaled.

Both the Australian and New Zealand flags are represented on the jersey’s shoulders, again honouring our ANZACs.

Above all else, this jersey honours all Defence Force personnel who have served in recent conflicts in Middle East wars, who are so often underrepresented.

The release of this jersey falls three weeks out from our Anzac Round clash against Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at Campbelltown Sports Stadium in Round 8.
