If true, pretty piss poor from Tom. WTs have stuck by him for a long time and given him every opportunity to succeed. Compare this to the response from Shawn Blore who has been very appreciative of the support from the club, this is more of a smack in the face. What i've heard is that it appears the push is from Tommy, not the club to join Manly effectively immediately, however talks are still ongoing. Also would expect most backs, especially those unsigned, will also move on.
He is off contract so talau can negotiate for 2024 and as we’ve seen, if clubs can secure someone for the following season, they’ll usually all push for it to be earlier.
1-7 has been the clear glaring issue this year with Tupou and Naden the only bright spots, and AJ appearing more suited to the backrow.
Tupou and Naden the only ones that have shown they fit either category.
If I was recruitment I'd be trying to push through a 2024 deal for someone like Kaeo Weekes and trying to get that through early. Tommy is not a top 17 player but it's pointless losing depth to a team already lacking enough depth, unless there are plans already in place.
The likes of Josh Feledy, Solo Saukuru, and Jahream Bula, imo neither are ready for FG, but hope the club continues to focus on developing them properly. Three young backs with plenty of potential.
If Tommy is off contract in 24 and the Tigers haven't offered him anything, then you can't blame the guy. The early exit sometimes is cleaner and probably benefits us given this year is done already. If true, pretty piss poor from Tom. Hope we are only getting part of the story.
I would keep Stains as wellIf Tommy is off contract in 24 and the Tigers haven't offered him anything, then you can't blame the guy. The early exit sometimes is cleaner and probably benefits us given this year is done already.
The only keepers in the backline are Naden, Tupou, and maybe AJ.
Already suggested that on another thread. Didn't get much agreement from anyone.Out of the box!!
What’s people thoughts of moving API to 7 and starting Simpkin!!
API has all the attributes of a 7, except for a long kicking game. He showed us his magic “in the latter minutes” running wide in the opposition 22, the defence stood off him “Munster like”
Simpkin should be able to get through 60-65min and having API mentoring / in his ear directly during game time would benefit greatly.
The 14 would need to be capable of playing half/hooker, Smith come to mind.
I just think we need an half that can create opportunity, organise and lead by example would do wonders and we already have him in the club. If things change 2024 then change him back to hooker.
And maybe Staines. Looked good at fullback v Parra. If Tommy is off contract in 24 and the Tigers haven't offered him anything, then you can't blame the guy. The early exit sometimes is cleaner and probably benefits us given this year is done already.

No great loss. Probably the most overrated player in the club......by the coaches! If true, pretty piss poor from Tom. WTs have stuck by him for a long time and given him every opportunity to succeed. Parker and Harper are off contract. Tuipulotu and Garrick are wingers. they have the space. If Manly really after Tommy you would assume that it may be because Koula is going to Rugby. Manly have Koula, Parker, Harper, Tuipolotu and Garrick can all play centre. Didn’t Manly promise to move Garrick to centre as part of his deal to re-sign?
Either way I wouldn’t let Tommy go. He is still the second best centre at the club after Naden.
Rugby are openly after Koula and have reportedly made a large offer. Just a thought on why Manly may be after Talau.Parker and Harper are off contract. Tuipulotu and Garrick are wingers. they have the space.
yeah Koula's definitely going to head over there but it won't be til close to the world cup. Garrick might move there but who knows? also welcome to the forum mate.Rugby are openly after Koula and have reportedly made a large offer. Just a thought on why Manly may be after Talau.
Don’t disagree that Garrick is a winger but thought that was something that came out of him re-signing.
I'd say it's a backwards move.....Harper is horrendousTalk about a sideways move. Awful.
I'd rather us Swap for Fletcher MyersIf any swap will happen between us and manly it will be Tommy Talau for Morgan Harper and nothing more
Exactly. I was getting hassled in the off season when I suggested I'd have had Junior Tupou ahead of Nofa to start the seasonNot me and @Demps haha. We were calling
him our very own izzy folau if I remember lol
