Daine Laurie #237

We should be trying to get a bloke like Toby Sexton or Jonah Pezet even if it is a loan
Yeah, be nice to work something out with the long view in mind.

Sezar, 2 years with a CO.

With AD going down, I think we're in a very bad position, this year and next.

Our 6 may not recover, ever be the same.
Our 7 is off contract, has never been in form and is essentially a 6.

So we need a 7 and a 6 for 2024....

I think some of the forumers are a bit harsh on Wakeham,he came in late, showed skill in the trials, thrown back in reggies to give the favourite 7 more chances and can kick goals...why start asking for blokes like Pearce,Sezar and co for next year when we desperately need a win this year with what we got,all I know is Brooks aint getting us the points while the pack has been doing well to get us in the zone...Maybe if Sheens and co concentrated on helping Wakes instead of fawning over Brooks we may just unearth a bloke who can finish off....just saying ....

Let’s give him 1/4 the time Brooks has been gifted before punting him.

Personally we got bigger problems than worrying about selfies with old team mates in a Penrith jersey .I happen to think he's a talented footballer Why ?
Mainly because Iast year he was fast could score a try and was big on Effort .last year we were famous for half the team not putting in and lacklustre performance and when I rewatched some them his effort was notable
This year he gets dropped and probably develops a poor reaction
Can he play 6 ? I Would love to find out who else do we have ?
If as you suggested, he developed a poor reaction from being dropped he's not showing the mental strength required to fight his way back into 1st grade.... or he just doesn't want to be here any longer.
And due to a great bit of detective work from @Demps mate, it certainly seems he is not showing the dedication or mental toughness required for that fight.
If he's chosen to be on the booze with his mates, I cant see him being with WT next year.

Are the cracks beginning to appear?
Why did Api take that kick? He was no chance and he knew it.
I’m not bagging Api, he’s been our best in every game, but is the burden of playing for a sick club starting to take it’s toll?
Meanwhile Capras remain undefeated on top of a ladder with some strong teams and with Madden.

You have got to remember it is his weekend off and should be able to do anything he wants imo
Might be just what he needs to refresh himself
Yes sir, two sides to the coin.
Can look at it however you want to look at it.

I just think of other athletes in the past and all the sacrifices they made to achieve greatness.... and this type of behaviour and attitude is not in line with that.

We've seen over the years, across many sports... how the party life can destroy careers and hinder some from achieving their true potential.

But yeah, it's his weekend off.... from reserve grade... he deserves to let his hair down.

I know first hand how much living away when younger and catching up with mates can release tension and change mindset

What behaviour?
I mustve missed something

Yes it is not a good look when you are dropped to reserve grade and instead of doing a bit extra for yourself and try and improve weather fitness or some other part of your game , you decide that going out on the drink will be better , I get a beer after training or with dinner , but for him to be out on the drink all day if true is pretty poor , his team mates may feel the same way about his lack of effort , piss him off and go buy a 1 ,3 , 7.
