Ffs that article is just a beat up from that boozer that hates the Wests tigers ,,, it’s nonsenseCheers thnx for that.
I'd doubt we'd be in the mix anyway even if he were to be released early
Thanks to Lee and Justin tigers have a really bad reputationFfs that article is just a beat up from that boozer that hates the Wests tigers ,,, it’s nonsense
This Team is like a Shit show IMO... It's like an NFL team thinking they will succeed with no Qtr back..
Deadset someone needs to understand this at the club and spend whatever it takes to get one ASAP.. If its Trindal then spend the money and compensater Sharks.
I guess Rothfield in big trouble then fabricating quotes from Mike RushFfs that article is just a beat up from that boozer that hates the Wests tigers ,,, it’s nonsense
The question has to be asked why did these geniuses let go the 2 half backs we had, leaving us with 2 halves and a desperate last ditch acquisition of a Canterbury reject. Its very clear that the coaching staff see that as a major weakness issue is the lack of options available. Their are no halves signed past 23 & we have been active on trying to get high profile players whilst also holding the young gun halves in the juniors. Issue is the perception that we are going only after a big fish & perceived laziness on recruitment/roster planning (which was shocking in this area to date).
People say throw x amount of cash at a player who is already contracted and lets just trade a player issue is we can’t actually do that & the top clubs just won’t release the player unless their is clear benefit for them which right now we offer teams dreggs of reggie best players.
Lets break this down further on players mentioned:
Trindall is excellent cover for Hynes & Moylan, SOO is coming up and they will be without Hynes for 2 games. Dykes is out already. They have him signed for another 2yrs. Even if we offered a player 1) most are only signed this year giving Sharks no benefit for next 2yrs, 2) we don’t have any suitable players they would benefit from to the level of Trindall 3) they are win now position as such unless they get a clear benefit won’t entertain a release 4) they don’t know how Dykes will come back and Moylan is coming to the end of his career Trindall could become the long term partner for Hynes. 5) they will be left with no coverage if Moylan or Hynes get injured. Minimal chance for this season it could happen let alone next.
Pezet signed a 2yr extension start of year and wants to be under the Storm system. He is getting game time at a team going for the title. He also has a clear pathway explained to him at the Storm like they did with Grant when both C/B Smith were in the team. The Storm may entertain an interim player swap but they have a clear long term view for him. The only way to grab him would be a significant ridiculous offer to grab him for 24 & twist him to leave early but we will have competition from top teams like the Storm for his long term services.
Dodd, he is signed for a few more seasons and his club have been really clear about not being released. It’s easy to say let’s trade Brooks but he also isn’t contracted past this year so to even discuss as a trade is no value to the gaining team let alone Brooks with a young family would need to commit which is questionable at best. It’s just not an option to even discuss. They gaining team get zero, maybe a transfer fee but lets face it the club doesn’t need it.
Our best bet at an established player is probably Keary if the Roosters don’t want him or Hunt if Hook leaves but even then it’s backed on Hook and Hunt wanting out. Hunt though was public about not building again so chances are he goes looking for a contending team instead unless he wants 1 last supplementary deal that he mutually agreed (big if) to leave the Dragons.
Reality is we are either left with fringe players who would give us little uplift (Flanno style) or rookies in the bank to hope they come good. If a team has a good scout network kids are available & with our forward pack the defensive flaws would be limited. Let’s face it doubt they miss more than our current ones miss. I can’t see us getting an established playmaker unless they are pushed out for a younger player.

Start over? Hello. What are we doing?Hook might get hooked again by Saint George. Ben Hunt already says he doesn't want to start over with a new coach. Hope we go after him.
Another tidbit from him:
We can now reveal another key reason why the Wests Tigers are struggling … Some bright spark has made the decision to relegate legendary high performance guru Ronny Palmer from NRL duties to pathways. Ronny has been a leader in his field for 45 years. He’s been involved in Origin, premiership-winning sides and the Kangaroos. And the players love him. Seriously this relegation confirms there are people at the Wests Tigers making decisions that shouldn’t be. Palmer declined to comment when we contacted him on Sunday.
That requires the club to have some gumption, a quality Justin and Lee severely lack.I think the club needs to draw a line in the sand. Just as Brisbane did in 2021. Even though Milford was technically off contract in his final year at Brisbane, they made a public call that they will be going to market and not resigning Milford.
And Cronulla made the same statement with Townsend and Johnson.
We need to do the same thing with Brooks.
Any potential half we would be interested in that might want the challenge or might want a change of scenery is not going to be interested whilst they currently feel they are second fiddle to Brooks.
I think Sheens needs to be part of it too. That requires the club to have some gumption, a quality Justin and Lee severely lack.
