He’s tall fast and athletic.
Has the attributes required to become a quality NRL player, but seems to be very raw with plenty to work on defensively, I agree with a previous post which stated he should have started on the wi v at NRL level, why move Staines from fullback ?

Could possibly have been upgraded in-house though.
All the people creaming their pants about Bula being in the side against Manly,I hope he does well,but once DCE,Turbo,Parker and co do a job on him I hope Sheens has a back up plan,,,,the Kid is raw,he has little NRL experience and has only played a couple of games in ressies...I believe in blooding young guys,BUT I dont encourage suicide missions just to please Sheens and co...

Isn't part of the consideration with Staines, not that he was bad at fullback, but that we lost Naden which has forced To'a to the centres, and Starford was quite poor positionally at wing anyway? It would appear we actually need Staines back on the wing, or we could have debuted Bula there, though it would appear the coach thinks he's an out-and-out fullback (because Sheens has historically debuted many players more protected on the wing).
We have the rest of the season for him to show something, not as though we could get any worse media/position/no wins etc.
We need something and if Bula is going to be our long term fullback the kid will show us glimpses. It will take him time, he will make mistakes but let’s see if their is hope with him.

For the young fellas sake I hope they start him on the wing. I can't see any logical reason not to.. he's just come back from injury, Staines did reasonable job there previously, and from memory Bula's last game in reserve grade wasn't all that great, so I'm not sure hes high on confidence. I hope I eat my words come Sunday

Sheens has been known to switch up the team last minute, so he may very well start on the wing, be moved there later on or simply start from the bench.
Carrying Laurie and Talau on the bench gives options in case he flops.

Going to need to be patient with Bula. Plenty of mistakes in him and positioning at the back is questionable. As he gains experience, I think he can potentially lock down the FB role long term.

Sheens if he plays him at fullback over Staines is crazy , this kid has zero experience , he played in a trial and was poor , career ending game this one

I thought Staines had a very solid game against Parra ,few mistakes but overall it was the best performance I’ve seen from a fullback wearing a Tigers jersey since Teddy was here 😅
I have a few critiques of Sheens,but one thing I’ve always liked about him is his willingness to give a young lad a go.Hopefully his judgment is correct and he’s ready.
