Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Our team is full of those players. As an example, we had a crack at Suailii, we also had a red hot go at Laurie.
I’m not saying don’t have a go, just eluding to an observation which e on the same needs addressing. Have a red hot go in a way that’s more effective.😉
I think we are on the same page , but I am saying is leave the proven 1st graders alone target the ones who are blocked behind 1st graders

Surely we can try and snag walker, you'd have to think the family would be a fan of Shenji, all that off the cuff play we got. he's a creator! and that's what we lack. id keep Brooks to just provide some speed/support/defense. at least until a young gun is ready.

1.Bula
6.Lucas Brooks
7.Sammy Walker
9.Happy Api
Brooks, has been paid on potential for 10 years.

Time to let him go.

Looks good in theory, but I think the Dolphins are actually pretty happy with JMK at hooker, some pundits even have him as the NZ #9 this year.
I like that the club has tried trades over the past couple years, but I think unless we are going for a mid-year swap to fill a hole that we just need to focus on good old fashion new signings. Looks like a lot of the dead wood is getting culled from the backline so that's a start.
Pretty sure JMK just re-signed with Dolphins.

Just on Talau, if Manly want an immediate transfer WT should say give us Ethan Bullemor and you can have him on your doorstep by tonight. Bullemor is off-contract after this season, he's a strong player who hasn't gotten much of a go at Broncos or Manly. He'd add to our pack nicely.

Agree, but we can get the Lauries not the Suailiis. We have more success with the pre retirement sector.
The only proven 1st grader with miles in his legs we have signed in recent history wanted to renege.
I think it makes more sense to identify our shortcomings and profile that imaginary player, then go looking for him in every corner of the globe regardless of what stage his career is at?
Sheens was good at that.
Coaches are very guarded on praising the skills of their players. I don’t understand why?
Maguire was often praising his players publicly until that performance review, then nothing.

Good shout, I find it very surprising that Bullemor is even off contract. Very good runner of the footy, hard at the line with good footwork. I've never seen him have a bad game, although I have not watched him that closely.

Underrated and high cieling.
He's a winner.

I was surprised when he left broncos. Makes you wonder why manly haven’t tied him down yet
Think I heard commentators say in his first game that he was one of the quickest at broncos at that time

What's the inside opinion on our regies centre Saukuru.. pretty sure he's top 30.. runs like talakai.. is he an actual prospect to be a future first grader..? If he is then would it be worth throwing him in like they're doing with Bula.. season isn't going too well.. maybe blood them all.. (matamua included)

He’s not Top 30.

Needs a bit of work defensively and with fitness, but agree that he’s a good tackle-buster.

Not sure if he’ll end up a future first grader, but he’s young enough that we haven’t seen his best yet.

Thanks KR.. I assume Feledy is in the same bracket.. good tackle buster but needs a bit more maturing.. though he is short listed for as a real chance for first grade isn't he ?

It's guys like this (Livai Saukuru, Brandon Mansfield, Jimmy Ngutlik - when he returns in the pre-season & Aitasi James) who have the physical attributes, can produce something that says NRL player but lack in some areas that we really need to start to develop like other clubs. It's a test for our coaching staff in both NRL and NSW Cup squads to take these guys to the next level.

I remember reading a story about Talakai and he never set the world on fire early but John Morris really worked with him to take his game & attitude to the next level.

Tupou has only played a couple of games but I think we can all see he's a huge prospect.. any chance he could be a future centre? As you can tell, I think this is one of our main areas to improve

I think so.

He's got a big future.
