We didn’t increase Brooks at the sametime.
He was increased years ago, to be somewhat fair his high salary this year was one of the last backloaded deals the NRL signed off on which makes it look at lot worse. His average salary based on reports per year of his contract term was around 750k PA. He hasn’t at all delivered on his salary regardless of the number.

if Brooks is re-signed 2024 it won't be on 900k, Brooks has had 1 year of the backended deal.

I don’t know the numbers, but doubt it was 900k.

That aside our roster / player management went all in focusing on 25 with Moses which showed total neglect on 23 & 24. It’s costing us this year and based on outgoings v incomings will cost us even more so next year. Moses isn’t coming and any quality half is signed up for 24 already also. It is going to be a struggle for a while.

Believe it is very close to 900k for hastings

Please, you’re watching the highlights with Brooks coloured glasses on. That try from Toa had nothing to do with Brooks, he could have received that basic pass from anyone. He created that try on his own with good footwork and some of the worst defence you’ll see from a rookie and a fat lazy injured half in his first game back. Which is why Brooks didn’t get a try assist stat for it. I’m watching the games closely and observing what players are actually doing. You’re just fanboi-ing over everything Brooks does as if he’s an immortal.

Just trying to take him down to justify Sheens backing Brooks. We went after Hastings because of his performance in England and Newcastle went after him after his performance with us. He has a personality type - they all do.
The fact is Sheens did not see him as 7 backed Brooks and was happy to let him go when Newcastle said we want him. Pathetic that some are trying to take him down after his performance at the club last year.

No one's perfect, iv made thousands of mistakes no doubt Jackson has aswell but from what iv read and heard from him he has matured and learnt and grown from it, now I can only go off what I see I'm not behind closed doors, in all his time with us he always seemed to be down to earth level headed respectful and passionate. Even now at Newcastle he seems to be genuine. Like that incident when we played them in round 2 when he went to Tommy after the game, that wasn't his fault that was on Tommy for not leaving things on the pitch.

Luke Brooks as an impact bench utility predominantly a Lock replacement. Given pre-season to build his strength & add a few kg of bulk.

I think his front-on defence in the middle would be fine in 15-20 min bursts, and could be that linkman role and given license to sniff / provide speed around & in behind the ruck.

He could also provide that utility value if Api had to go off and halves cover.

Sheens has always been about innovation so who knows!!!
