Please correct me if I’m wrong, but the one stat you pull up has more to do with the runner doesn’t it? The receiver needs to be reading the ball carrier, running to a gap with impeccable timing. This requires skills that WT and Bulldogs don’t have in abundance. It also requires plenty of game time together. You may have been on holidays and not aware that Brooks did not play at all after July last year and that includes no preseason, so I’m guessing he was rusty because of that in the first 2 or 3 games, but more importantly, ball runners had not had the opportunity to develop some rhythm and timing.
In the perfect world Brooks, Api, Bateman, Papali’i and others would have sorted this out during preseason.
Brooks is improving each game.
If you want to gauge his effectiveness by presenting stats, then point to the ones which require less skilful input by others?
e.g. 40/20s or FDOs etc.
