Releasing 3 top 30 players means that they still have 41 players in thier top 30 squad 🤭.
They went crazy with the signings before the players were all registered.
Don’t forget they have signed Stephen Critchton for next year along with Xerri. I remember Davey commenting last year when leaving manly although he had an agreement with Canterbury he was quiet vocal about the lack of transparency about the salary cap. Gould was also going off about it being rediculous that the NRL took so long to make a decision. Anyway, maybe Gould and the bulldogs over estimated it.
They are busted. They wouldn’t get much cap relief from the 3 leaving given its 9 weeks in already so chunks of payments have been made for this year.
Maybe they promote some kids and see what they are made of - it is that time of the year for cup player promotions, but it’s Gus so you never know. Hope its nothing big.

I've been advocating the need to add a winger of late. If Nofa can play like tonight on a more consistant basis, they idea could be shelved.
Or, Junior Tupou could move to the centres beside To'a & you add Daniel Tupou outside him. That jumping ability out wide.....

Phew, was starting to worry we might have picked him up.
Gus IS up to something...expect something before June 30
Watched the south’s nsw cup yesterday, Hawkins looks the goods as well , he has no path way at south’s , would be a good buy

Think Gus is ahead of other clubs. I would also guess that they got a bonus to go quietly especially if not moving to another club.
After this win im happy we have our FB (Bula) We have 2 quality wingers ( Tupou and Nofo )
Toa is getting better each week and Naden is good but need to get the odd rash action out of his game. Would like one top class center to go with Toa and Naden need 3 for depth
Whether we like it or not Brooks and Wakeham are our halves .
Weve got a good pack and depth in forwards throw in a top class center and half or 5/8 then we've got good backline and depth in the backs
3 cup players interest me Laurie ,Saukaru and Boyling note we comfortably beat Penrith in Cup

Taafe isn't a fullback, just a reasonable back up in that role. Definitely a 6, maybe a 7 and would handle the 14 role well.

With south’s signing wigthon , Hawkins and taafe , really don’t have much of a further at south’s , also south’s will be under cap pressure ( or they should be ) gee it can’t be that hard to poach one or two of them with a pay upgrade and a 1st grade spot
