Did he have a brother, because I was at Leichardt oval when this one happened, if you were at belmore and he was playing for West it would have been against Canterbury West were playing, and im a Balmain supporter, what I saw was at leichardt I was definately not at Belmore.

According to Wikipedia Liubinskas played 2 matches for Balmain in 1979.

I was at that match too. But we were stripped of the points because Liubinskas was deemed an illegal replacement, not because we had 14 players on the field.

It was something to do with a replacement for first grade had to have completed the match in reserve grade. Liubinskas played in reserves but didn't finish the match.

The match was drawn 7 - 7 and we were stripped of the one point. The Canterbury supporters were spewing because the NSWRL wouldn't give them the other point.

That is the way i remember it and i supported Balmain

I can't see him ever getting a 1sf grade spot there with Johnson and Walker incumbents
Surely he would like to step up to NRL
We need to stop fantasising about established top performing Nrl players there is Zero chance they would consider moving to the spooners .Campbell Graham for example waste of time even talking about it
Money talks but careers are more important
Re our own Cup side there is nothing that's a standout got to recruit where we have one major thing to offer -The chance to be a regular NRL footballer

Think johnsons age might keep volkman keen on the Warriors as long as they keep going decent, considering his age and injury history it wouldn't be surprising if he retires after this year
granted he is playing pretty well lately and I'm surprised no ones mentioned him as a senior half pairing with some young gun for us

Yes I just checked it myself, and im sure he was on field wrongly obviously in one of those games at Leichardt in 1979 and Balmain lost comp points as well, but if my old age has the better of my memory, what does it matter, we know points were lost, lets see if the NRL stick to the original rules and strip Souths points. Not likely but if it was us or one of the other lesser thought of teams we would be stripped.

In fairness to Hastings who had a try assist early .His half's partner Ponga had what was probably the worst half's performance seen in years 10 missed tackles errors etc
So much so that I worried Ponga might still be suffering from previous knocks .Got to be hard and Parra were on fire . Moses was great .
In general knights were so poor I would not look there for any potential recruits
Q how many try assists has Brooks had this year ?

My thoughts also.He was still calling for the ball on almost every play,not once did I see their 9 look up and say “what are we doing”

At the tigers it's called "point creation", apparently Brooks is amazing at it. I read that here in all of Earl's posts so I believe it.

Not a Brooks fan but to clarify according to the nrl Hastings has had 4 in 9 games and Brooks has had 1 in 7. Neither shooting the lights out in that category

Ok no prob, and dont get me wrong, I dont want any team to lose points for trivial stuff, but over the many Years ive followed the game, some teams cop it and some teams dont, It always seemed West & Balmain copped it.

Balmain were deducted points for breaching the interchange rule vs Penrith in 92' or 93'.

I remember in 04', Brisbane fielded an extra player against us and lost points but later had the decision overturned.

There are a couple of examples of teams being stripped of points for fielding 14 players. During the NRL era:

the Dogs lost points for 14 men on the field in 2009 v the Panthers; and

the Cowboys lost points in 2000 v the Eels .

That's the precedent. Let's see if the NRL wriggles out of this one.
