Personally I think he's a backrower and nothing else. I think any attempts to have him trim down to (and maintain) 5/8th weight are doomed to fail. I think constant opposition pressure and too much structure bring Schuster undone.

I think you want the ball in Schuster's hands after the setup has already been done by someone else, including tactical kicking and getting the defence out of shape. Then you give him good early ball in attack, allow him to carry a bit of weight, and let him play off the cuff.

Problem is I don't think you'll ever pay 5/8th money for a backrower, and at just 21 years old, it remains to be seen whether Schuster would accept that "demotion". He might well consider himself a half, same problem we had with Hastings (who I still believe is a better lock than halfback).

They have no problem signing any one with only 2 good years left. Hunt would be the best half on the market for now aswell as since Munster . If the chooks believe he would lead them to another title nothing/no one would get near him

TIGERS SIGN TALENTED BACK

The Wests Tigers have raided the Queensland Cup ranks, signing Wynnum’s Tony Pellow effective immediately, as per WWOS’s The Mole.

The versatile Pellow can play fullback, centre and halfback and provides some much needed depth for the one-win Tigers.

For the Seagulls this season, Pellow has recorded five try assists, 12 tackles busts and two tries in five games.

The 26-year-old is expected to debut in the NSW Cup for the Western Suburbs Magpies next weekend.

If he was to impress in the NSW Cup, it won’t be a surprise to see Tim Sheens call on him for first grade in the near future.

Pellow previously played his trade for St George Illawarra in the NSW Cup before catching on in the Queensland Cup for the Brisbane Tigers and then Wynnum

I Don't think he's suited for 13 if I'm being honest ,for most ballplaying 13s Their main job is to create space for the halves whereas Schusters real talent is feeding the ball to his outside men.

His assist on debut against us is a perfect example of how you'd want him to play and you get alot less opportunities for that kind of play at 13 than you get a 5/8 or second rower

This would make sense. If you were starting as head of football of our club this is the first decision you would make.

Depends if we sign Staines for more years, he's only signed this year and since he's not playing fullback he might decide to leave.
