Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Given AD is out for the whole of next year ( as per NRL Physio ) I’ll be shocked if Schuster isn’t here soon in a swap for Talau

Manly will bluff that they don’t want JS to leave but they’ll just be trying to get the WTs to cover the whole of next years 800k for JS .

Lomax is only good on the right and To'a has been good at right centre. Talent is there with Lomax but not sure we'd be better off paying whatever we need to secure him when To'a is giving us solid play at a budget price.
Even though he’s been going very well on the right, To’a prefers left centre as he has a big left foot step that is harder to utilise on the right.
To’a is very under rated and improving every game. He’s shown he will take plenty of the tough carries out of our own danger zone and does it effectively.
He’s shown he has above average pace and carries the ball with enough intent to make line breaks,
He’s shown he has a decent catch and pass to create for his winger.
He’s safe under the high ball and versatile enough to play well as a winger or even fill in at fullback when required.
He’s also now become a very strong defender who very rarely misses a one on one tackle and is rapidly improving his decision making when defending as a centre.
I’m happy with To’a and Naden, but would be nice to have one more high quality centre to keep them fighting for positions.
I don’t think Feledy is anywhere near NRL ready and I think Kaparoa is better suited as a utility off the bench who can cover backs and forwards.

Averillo was amazing in his last game.
I like Morkos from the Raiders as some one else mentioned... he wouldn't be too expensive I'd assume.

Averillo could be a costly player.
Ciraldo has wraps on him, said he could become one of the elite centre of the game....

A 2024 line up of;

1 Bula
2 Nofo / Staines
3 Averillo / Morkos
4 Naden
5 Tupou

Looks good.
I hope Feledy becomes a star though.
I'm preferring T'Oa to Naden so far...

Lomax appears very egotistical, therefore if it is true he’s been dropped for Sunday’s game, I’d say it’s highly likely he’d be wanting out and requesting a release ASAP.
Although unlikely the Dragons management would grant a release to someone of Lomax’ talent, funnier things have happened.
Being a quality goal kicker aside from his undoubted ability, he’d be a player who would no doubt help make Wests Tigers a more formidable line up.
Unlike Schuster,he's proven that he can play at elite level

You don't think he mite end up at the Dogs ?

according to a Saints mate of mine, after a good 2020 & 2021 season Lomax has been very average since and getting worse. He’s on big $ and his defence is ordinary. He has only kick 6 of the 18 goals for out wide.

No way Schuster is on $800k
He was promising when he resigned not established
IPap and Api aren’t even on that
At least Bozo Jnr will know what he’s on
I’d think $600k max to get him and I’d be happy to get him at that

On the way to work I was listening to sports radio this morning, they were talking about Fulton and recruitment in general. Which led into Melb Storm recruitment process. Apparently Bellamy has confidence in those employed as talent finders and when prospect talent comes through to him. He doesn’t watch any video reels. Just interviews them and forms and opinion and attitude and desire. I’m not sure how Lomax and Schuster in that interview with the Storm.

Good point.
Maybe better to avoid those with a poor attitude, but you can look at it from another angle. Wayne Bennett has been known to turn the poor attitude of many talented players around.
