Agreed. However I think both of those players would favour a move to the Dolphins over any Sydney clubs if they were to move. The two best options halfback-wise is Walker or Hunt. Opposite sides of the experience spectrum yet upsides to both. HOWEVER, neither is officially off-contract but both are in interesting circumstances...
If we beat the Dragons this week, Hook is gone. And with that, potentially Hunt is available. But that's a slim chance.
Walker is obviously on the outer at the Roosters but is technically contracted so can't talk with other clubs. Would look good in Orange (and black and white of course).
Interesting times.
Lomax is on les than Nof for a few more years. Very gettable, for whatever reason he isn't kicking on at the dragonsThe problem is he is on good dollars for like 10 years or something. He can play but he makes dumb decisions.
Sorry but I like joffa think he’s doing a good job , we got other dead wood I would rather see go , just remember u also need backups not just ur top 13I agree. Maybe Schuster 13 and try and trade joffa. Maybe a 3-2 player swap where we send Joffa, TT, Nofa for Schuster & Saab. So it would look something like
1. Bula
2. Saab
3. Lomax
4. To'a/Naden
5. Tupou
6. ??
7. Hunt
8. Klem
9. Api
10. Uto
11. Papali'i
12. Bateman
13. Schuster
14. Simpkin
15. Twal
16. Pole
17. Matamua
If talau goes .we r left with kepao, naden ,toa .maybe Reilly as centres .I'd prefer to keep Junior on the wing but it would be good to seem him get a go in centresA mid-year swap of Talau and Schuster does seem to make a bit of sense for both parties.
We supposedly have spare cash in the cap this year, and I think Manly are desperate to get another centre to keep Harper out of their 1st grade side.
Our outside backs depth is pretty thin again with Staines and Naden out for multiple weeks, but in saying that the halves depth is even more stretched, if Brooks or Wakeham go down we could be in big trouble.
It's a big risk to the culture, but I think the leadership at the club is in a really good place right now and it's a risk with a big reward. I would do the deal for this year and try and pay a bit of next years money. It's not catastrophic if it doesn't pay off. $800k for a spine player is not ridiculous in today's market.
The kid has a million dollar talent but a ten cent head...that's the concernI don’t get how more people aren’t excited about our link to Josh Schuster
Seriously the bloke has so much talent it’s scary
Benji Marshall is his idol if your idol is coaching you do everything possible not to let him down
A few years ago a team mate of his died at manly this would have a huge effect on a young bloke like home he needs a fresh start
I would be over the moon if we managed to sign him
Potentially it could be an amazing signing. Just think we have all been burnt by potential in signings from our past. Just worried about his mental state.I don’t get how more people aren’t excited about our link to Josh Schuster

He missed the World Cup to concentrate on getting his body rite for pre season!!The kid has a million dollar talent but a ten cent head...that's the concern
Well it appears Souths borrowed him to get Wighton, we could borrow him for a week to get these 3Did we sign the accountant from the roooters or south’s, because getting them three are going to set u back a large park of ur cap
Gus made it pretty clear that nobody has spoken to his boy about a move to the Silvertails. He was pretty emphatic at the time (but then again his lips were moving so he is just as likely to be telling porkies).I'm going to throw out there an immediate three-way hypothetical:
Josh Schuster to Wests Tigers
Daine Laurie to Bulldogs
Kyle Flanagan to Manly
Our recent NSW Cup acquisition of Tony Pellows gives us some depth at fullback if this happens & we also have Starford T'oa who is a decent fullback.
