He's not. He's a 5/8th as well. No idea why they would look at Johnson either. He's a 5/8th/fullback mould.

My guess is the coaches have mistakenly tried to shield him from his critics. Perhaps the same reason Api didn’t give him that kick at goal? But he appears to be injury free now and Benji probably told him for the first time this season he’s the general out there.
I really don’t know, all I know is he’s been getting better each game this season after a long layoff and with no preseason with new teammates.

You do realize that he has already kicked a 40/20 this year. His kicks do not 99% go dead or hit the legs of the defenders. The previous game just as an example he kicked on the 5th in the attacking zone and Bateman stuffed up grounding it.

He has also played significantly more than 1 good game. He has been our most creative player and one of our best this season.

The first thing is we need to view the situation accurately and not with the stupid hyperbole on this forum.

Then you have to consider his salary and other options.

Also Played close to 200 NRL games without finals and started 0-7 this year. If he misses finals this year he needs to go its that simple, he is not a week in week out NRL player, no one argues his talent but the bloke is in the 7 the most important position and does not deliver. Plus he is on insane money

I don't think he will live up to the hype. Very very slow and huge for his age. He will get slower over the next few years.

Off memory Mal Meninga was a centre and a very large one , he played bump and run , he would bump onto the opposition then run over them , if they are big and have speed they can be destructive centres

Very different game these days. Slow centre won't become elite. Also, Mal is an immortal.

He's had wraps for ages & they love him.

Api has been our most creative player .often left stranded by his halves

I know it wouldn't happen but Joel Caine yesterday mentioned with Matty Johns, Robinson should look at loaning out Sam Walker to wests tigers, saying he would get better experience in nrl rather than reserve grade and Sheens would like that style of halfback.

I wouldn't say no to a loan deal for rest of 2023

2024 we would have to get someone but as for 2023 may aswell as Brooks Walker is a better combo that Brooks wakeham
