How is that young 7 Lawry going? Wasn’t he training with the NRL side?I haven’t seen enough of our Flegg side this year to form an opinion. I was heading out to watch them against Penrith but they moved venues late and didn’t allow a crowd. The small amount I have seen nobody has jumped out at me. Ethan Sanders is an outstanding prospect still a couple of years away, Joseph O’Neill (Dogs) is another that impresses me. Young Tallyn (Wests Ball) is something special, I am really excited about him I believe he impressed when he trained with the NRL squad at Christmas. Having said that I have seen some absolute stars in junior reps simply not cut it in the NRL. I am planning on getting to a few Flegg games in the next couple of weeks. I will report then
If Lawry is any good I hope we don’t flick him like we did to Lachlan Illias when he injured his ankle. We have also got NZ schoolboy halfback Oliver Lawry. Only played 2-3 SG Ball games for Balmain before injuring his ankle. Only just came back last week via Sydney Shield. Will probably play a few games there and then see him in Flegg in 1-2 months. He trained with the NRL squad for a part of the pre-season.
Yes, we don’t have a good record for retaining talented young players. If Lawry is any good I hope we don’t flick him like we did to Lachlan Illias when he injured his ankle.
Don’t we have another young bloke coming down next year from Newcastle aswell?Yes, we don’t have a good record for retaining talented young players.
From the little I’ve seen of Lawry he could easily make the transition to nrl? Already over 6’, the new breed of halfbacks?
he's very talented. agile and powerful running game, good long pass on both sides and kicks well. I'm pretty disappointed he didn't get a full season of Ball because that would've been great for his development as well as being able to work out where he ranks amongst some decent halfbacks in that league.Yes, we don’t have a good record for retaining talented young players.

From Penriff?I once met a young fella called Anthony….he spelt it Anfernee.
He did a few sessions with them over pre-season.How is that young 7 Lawry going? Wasn’t he training with the NRL side?

Yeah we have Navren Willett 18yo from Taree coming next year. Currently playing A grade for Taree City in the Group 3 seniors as fullback & goal kicker.Don’t we have another young bloke coming down next year from Newcastle aswell?
Is this the signing buzz was talking about? I’d like to hope notApparently Iverson Matai who is young Bulldogs half has joined our JerseyFlegg squad. Anyone know anything about this guy?

Only watched him once. He didn’t do anything outstanding but was in a beaten team. Have to watch more games to give a fair assessment. How is that young 7 Lawry going? Wasn’t he training with the NRL side?
I think they should skip the shield comp. Pretty average standard. Some local A grade comps are much better. He did a few sessions with them over pre-season.
Played a few SG Ball games for Balmain and then got injured for the remainder of the season.
Is only just returning now via Sydney Shield and will hopefully make his Jersey Flegg debut later in the year.
