Luke Brooks #167

This is the problem with the Brooks bashers who clearly have no idea. Brooks isn't a marquee half. I don't think he will ever be a marquee half.

I have never stated that Brooks needs a better pack or anything like that as well so this argument is also a bit stupid when you are using it on me.

Andrew Johns is the best player I've ever seen. He played in a Newcastle team with consistently good forward packs. He won 2 premierships. I assume your point is that marquee players need good forward packs but even that isn't true.
Sometimes the truth hurts

Brooks was OK tonight.

I still find him very lacking, not just as a half but as an overall player.

Even after those two wins, I'd let him go after this season.

Everyone has room for improvement but I can't see the ceiling being much higher for this guy.
Yeah I barely spoke a word during the game but when the commentators harp on about his defence I shouted 'Jeez who cares about defence and get some bloody try assists!'.

Just doesn't have it.

If we got two new halves and another left centre (sorry Naden isnt good enough) then we would win most of our games or at least half.

Brooks and Wakeham just seem to do the wrong option so regularly.

Don't get me started on Wakeham in attack.

Who the hell in their right mind would even think that matters in re-signing him after 2 wins, like that somehow redeems the 10 years of pure shit he has produced?

Show me who thinks that and ill point out their velcro shoes.

- just felt like you needed to add that in there incase we thought you were holding out on him becoming a marque player in his 20th season?

We need attack desperately but Brooks isn't the guy to carry teams to a victory is he. He can make some good plays. He has shown us that this season but we need a lot more.

Herein lies the problem though. Is it realistic to expect Brooks to create 5 tries for us per game ? I don't think so.

It's depressing.

If Brooks is on $600K then there's probably not too many issues with his performances. He can manage the game perfectly fine to get us into the attacking zone. Sadly he is on marquee money and can't setup a try to save his life.

Not really true.

He isn't marquee but he can create in the attacking zone. I love the manage the game line though. Brooks the game manager who can create in the attacking zone.

I also like the 600k salary. I've give him a little less but hey that's me.

I don't even know what Brooks position is. He doesnt really have one
There is a bit of a trend lately....

Centres who think they're 5/8s.

Burton, Wighton, Dylan Brown... AD.

Maybe we need to try our luck and play one of ours in the 6
