NRL 360

For God's sake, is there anyone else on here that thinks Origin is massively overblown? Yes, I find it interesting and I will watch it but there is no way that I count sleeps or get to a fever pitch as it approaches. The reality, is that it is a competition between two Australian states, where true origins of some players have been debated. To me, it's a massive media beat up and the obsession by shows such as NRL 360 is way over the top. I must admit, I tuned into it last night hoping that the Tigers' smash up of the Cowboys might register some discussion. But no, 45 minutes was centred on the Origin selections when 20 minutes would have sufficed. The St.George game got a mention because their opponents were the Roosters and Cronk coaches them......Let's forget our allegiance to the Tigers for a moment. Wouldn't other NRL fans who, perhaps, didn't watch the Tigers game and who, were surprised by the score line, like to hear more about it? Yes, they would. Don't the Tigers, who have been bashed from pillar to post by the media, deserve some positive attention? Yes they do.
And as I type this, NRL 360 is on in the background. The topic 25 minutes in? 100% Origin. What a yawn.
Only my view but, whoever directs this show, needs to chat to the fans, and ask what they'd really like to hear about.

Origin sells this game to the world.

Can honestly say I have never watched a minute of it. Idk why people complain so much, yet watch it. What sort of groundbreaking insight will you get? And I don‘t even mean that facetiously, totally sincere. Tv shows like that are a like newspapers. A dead medium imo.

Maybe we should just get all our news here then?

You jest, but the internet is the source where most of society gets their news these days. Sure there’s the old chestnut “don’t believe everything you read on the internet”, there’s always going to be rubbish. But the same was once true about newspapers when that was the no 1 source of news. I’ve been saying for a long time, what is the point of reading newspapers in this day and age? You literally are reading yesterdays news. The internet provides instant news at the tip of your fingers. Just always make sure you fact check.

I’m not jesting at all…

I posted a Twitter comment here earlier from some Parra fan about our Chairman , and someone here got all bent out of shape

One bonehead on Twitter does not change the impact of the internet and the fact that newspapers are a dead medium.

Well bully for you Fallen Angel. I guess I watch it hoping to hear honest, informed views about various League topics because I enjoy the game and I look for some light entertainment at 6.30. I am often disappointed with the content, bias and dumb, poorly articulated comments but what other League show is there to tune into? Occasionally we get to hear/ watch interesting news of signings, club performance and emerging players but only occasionally.

Not sure mate. I have other stuff I prefer watching.

Yes and it's only one aspect of the game of Rugby League that us local fans want to hear about it.
I don’t know what to tell you.
The NRL needs Origin and plenty love it.
Personally, I’d like to see the comp suspended for four weeks whilst it is conducted.
