You have claimed systemic racism has affected current day sportspeople. Racism in sport is extremely relevant in the NRL, where the majority of players are not pale skinned. In fact, NRL registered players have listed 116 different countries as their place of birth! If you step back 2 generations, that number rises to 144.
It is the word systemic that I question and I would like to know how it has shaped our sporting stars.
If you don’t want to engage, all good but you can’t drop a grenade and expect to walk away without response…
99% of outrage about racism consists of ageing upper middle class white women getting offended on behalf of other people.

Which is a very immature response for a man your age when you can reflect on the fact that this happens too often to people who have no blonde wife to send in....

You certainly don't deserve sympathy - but instead of having a laugh at a case of mistaken identity - how about displaying some empathy for the real victims??
I take your point and perhaps I worded it wrong. I thought by telling the story I was empathising with the indigenous by showing how judgemental people are. it didn’t stop me from seeing the irony in the situation. Apologies if I offended anyone

@WestsEffTheRest, I know you deleted your post, but I managed to read it before you did and I have a couple of questions if you dont mind.
If you are so adamant that Australia is a racist country, who do you find to be the racists and how?
Do you think it is possible that the word racist is being used too generally, when other descriptors are more accurate?

I deleted it mate because I didn't want to cause controversy. As a Arab person in this country who was born in Australia the amount of racism i've experienced is disgraceful & at times has scared me. The worst I experience it is when I head out to country towns for a getaway/little break, I mean people don't even try to be subtle about it. I've been called a dirty spick, told to go back to my own country, a terrorist all sorts of things.

The worst I experienced it was back in 08 on the Gold Coast when me & my wife were walking at night getting some Ice Cream & a pack of drunk individuals came & harassed us & we were physically threatened. I obviously de-escalated the situation as I didn't want to put my wife in harms way. I said earlier that I don't care for conversations like this on the Internet but in my honest opinion I think if anyone thinks the Adam Goodes situation is anything other then racist then I think the individual is just choosing to be ignorant.

A lot has changed nowadays compared to the early 80s & 90s as it was a lot worse back then to the point where I didn't want to go to school anymore because the Aussie kids would just constantly pick on me & hurl racist abuse at me. At a time it was getting better but I think it's sort of reverting back to how it was back then due to the sudden rise of far right politics in countries such as America. By no means am I a 'Lefty' as people call it but I think people use these sorts of controversial statements & issues & hide behind Politics as sort of a shield.

That sounds terrible. So in your experience it is white people?

Look at it a different way , I don’t think I am a racist as I have many friends of different races , but over the last ten years or so the way the government has pushed this narrative that u cant say this or that and the laws they put in place only to protect certain people , they have ended up pushing people towards been semi racist , just wait to see how this VOICE works out , no matter which way it goes it will divide this country. I hope I am wrong but albo has opened a can of worms

So the government gets the blame & not the individuals?

At lease I stand up for myself , not like u who just goes with the flow , every one’s a racist if pushed to having to except something that they don’t have any say on how things are pushed onto them , that’s where the government have to be held accountable

💯 these labels are mostly used indiscriminately, ad hoc and at will - if I don't like you, you must be evil, inhuman, homophobe, racist, xenophobe, misogynist etc.
If one is booing "certified, token woke" => racism e.g. LM, AG, and
if one is booing "non woke" player => encouraged, welcomed, or at least pushed under the carpet as non-issue

99% huh? Lol just round up the number, racism
doesn't exist in the world you live in obviously
Well demand for racism definitely exceeds supply, hence the need to still be having a big collective cry cause a millionaire footy player got booed many years ago.
