Origin 2023

He falls into the same trap a lot of NSW people do.
It is assumed Club form will translate to Origin form.
QLD prove regularly it takes more than that. Benny Hunt and Dane Gagai are examples. Stars at club level, superstars at origin.
I reckon club form can be replicated at Test level but Origin is different.
Yep. You can just see that QLD have a different kind of bond. More effort, more cohesiveness. And that all translates into wins. Definitely some poor selections for NSW but in any case they just weren’t on the same page and working together.

QLD really do care about this more. We're spoilt
out here in Sydney, NSW. We had it all over them
and welcomed them back in the front door lol

Someone should tell him to pass the ball occasionally.
Yes, he’s like the kid in the U7s who thinks he can win every game. I thought Teddy and Cleary were very disappointing tonight. Doubt if either will be left out of game 2 but think Latrell will add some starch and Hynes probably needs more game time.
But that Qld spirit and determination is something else. They were potentially gone but no one told them.
It ain’t over until it’s over.

Don't usually feel sorry for Mick Ennis but I reckon he would love to smash Cory Parker -the genius with hindsight - even though they are apparently great mates.

The fact TPJ was smiling with the Maroons straight after that loss shows his heart isn't in the jersey.
To lose in those circumstances and be ok about it is mind boggling.
The useless pea brain still wants to play for Queensland.

I disagree with all the Teddy hate. Got poor service all game. His missed cover tackle on Cobbo was poor but beyond that I thought he was solid.
Cleary was poor. Yeo tried hard but was ineffective. Though I would be sticking with them for game 2.
Pangai and Young to many stupid penalties and errors.
Game plan looked nonexistent. One out runs upfield and kick to Turbo or Crichton.

They missed Latrell’s…arsehole-ness. His aggression and mongrel antics can put teams off their game. I expect to hate his guts in game 2 lol.

I picked Queensland to win although follow NSW. To my mind, Freddy and Brandy totally got the balance of the side wrong.

1 - Should have had Cook on the bench. He is most effective against tiring defences. Could have added much needed spark at the 60-65 minute mark.

2- Why have Luai and Hines in the same side? All that happens is that waste a valuable bench spot. I wouldn’t pick Luai as I think Nicho is a more complete player.

3-Tavita Pengai Junior was just dreadful. Why pick a player in that arena who is almost guaranteed to have at least one brain explosion per game? That pass on the 10 metre line was unforgivable.

4-Teddy is cooked. His form leading up to Origin has been mediocre at best. The spirit is willing but time has caught up with him. Dylan Edwards deserves his chance.

5-A little like Teddy, I think Turbo needs a good off season to get his body ready for next season. His pace and form are severely off and need fo show more in club before he is reselected. I’d go with Campbell Graham next game.

6- The loss of Latrelle cannot be glossed over. He is our best attacking weapon in the opposition red zone. Crichton wasn’t bad but he is not the threat that Latrelle poses. I would move Crichton to the wing to replace Josh Addo Carr who was quiet to say the least.
