Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Seems like it isn't two ESL halves.
It's one or the other.

Daresay we could get Sezar + extend Brooks and still land Frizz.. if we wanted to.

Stop even thinking about him, Just Stop....
Hopefully that will help with not mentioning him here... Ever

Sezar is garbage - And there's a reason he's not been resigned on at Leeds yet...
His team with the immortal Blake Austin is coming 8th in a 12 team "reserve grade std. comp"....
And you reckon he's any type of answer here....
FFS - Let it go man....

He's where he's at for a reason.

Throw some money at Sezer
Wouldn't mind him on-board.
Killing it in SL
It would be a good signing
Good organiser, kicks goals
Was good at Raiders
May seem to be getting on, definitely has some years in him.
Ticks the boxes for me

So looks like we're going from an average overpaid half to an even more average half and still probably pay too much for the privilege. Such a Wests Tigers thing to do, I dont think Brooks is the answer but if he wanted to stay on for another couple of years with sensible money that would be preferable.
I dont know how Sezer is going or went over there but Austin was terrible over here cant see that he would have suddenly gotten any better.

Killing it?
They're 8th in a 12 team comp....

Mitchell Pearce is on top.
Wolves are 2nd (And Drinkwater is back in Australia ATM)

hell, The Leopards are top 4 with Lachlan Lam...

Sezer had 1 year worth talking about in 10 (Playing outside a Dally M Winner)
Leave him where he is (With no contract)

I would still have him on-board.

I have to pick u up on ur statement, apart from what we signed last year and just before the season, what have we signed , we have punted joffa and looks like blore is out the door , so what have we signed 🥴🥴🥴

Bula to the top squad in April has been a pretty darn good signing for mine, and opportunity wise, there would be less cash available and no opening for another new signing if they had not allowed Joffa to leave.

Others might not agree, but I reckon it was good business.

Yeh - Sezer nah.

We seem to be stockpiling average halves in the lower grades: Chester, Camroux, Matai (promising but was also behind a few at the dogs), Tannous, Pellow, Smith etc.

It would be good to go after some quality. I still think Trindall, Volkman/TMM/SJ/Metcalf, Sanders would be the way to go for 2024.

I'd only consider ESL options like Sezer if Brooks leaves.

I think the backrow issue you raised is directly related to the quality of service they are getting from the halves, Ice had a stack of line breaks running off Moses the last 2 years, no surprise that hasn't continued here.
Halves need fixing first, then a lot of the other issues disappear.

I beg to differ on Papali'i in particular, as if he was running at holes he should be doing a lot better break and try scoring wise than the much lesser gifted Garner or even Lawrence did. Blore was also finding both more often.

He is now playing good footy again, though different, but just isn't aiming or timing himself correctly to get into such positions. Hopefully he can find it again.

Same people calling calling for volkman from the Warriors to save us

Bula was already in the top squad , and we had heaps of cap space before joffa left , so no incoming and our squad is a class forward down FOR WHAT , not having a crack at u , but I can’t see why , do we want another wooden spoon to go with last years

I'm really dissapointed with IP. I think I get more frustrated when I rate them and they don't perform. He hasn't been performing up to the standard he should be.

Not for me. Think you and batboy should talk to each other.

Whilst I agree he hasn't been up to his barnstorming attacking best - I largely think having the standard of quality of half in Moses and Brown at Parra feeding him the right ball at the right time is a contributing factor to this.

I think we however, aren't acknowledging the work and effort area's he puts in defence. . IP is constantly chasing kicks, making multiple tackle effort plays and is always the first at attempting to charge down a kick, considering he comes from an edge, it's these 1% and heart that we have lacked for many years. Never saw Garner or Tuilagi making those plays.
