Luke Brooks #167

I honestly don’t blame him for leaving, he has been blamed for every loss regardless and f how badly other players perform it is always his fault.
The supposedly low ball offer probably sealed his decision to leave. I would hope they have a strong replacement lined up but knowing the club they probably don’t. I don’t see any better options in the cattle we currently have. Walker or Taffe would be good options but as we already know Wests Tigers are seen as pretty much the kiss of death by most players. We can’t seem to find players to take our money.

The club really insulted him offering him half of what he's already on....

Would you stay at your current employer if they told you they're cutting your wage by 50%?

Idiots...dead set clueless basket case club
Agree with your third sentence but, respectfully, not the first. I reckon, if you believe the media, he's been offered roughly what his worth for the next 2 years. He's been good the last 3 or 4 games but before that he was very average. We have been paying him well above his worth.

We haven't had a halfback in years anyway.

This is the truth.

People are lamenting not having a halfback. and that without brooks we'll struggle to score tries.

but we can't score tries with him anyway.

There's literally no downside to this move from a team performance point of view.

They will still not score tries, and likely lose the next 10 games in a row (Which they were going to do anyway) , but we'll have more cap space.

Wasn't he on a heavily back ended contract so the million plus he was getting this year wouldn't really represent his true value. That said, he is now 28 and running out of chances to play in the big end of year games so completely understand why he wants to go. Hope he does well wherever he ends up.

Well I think this my be the brick that knocks the house down , I know brooks is well liked around the playing group , with all the rumours going around that the club is shopping nofa , Simpkins and many more , I can see the class core that we have saying to themselves it’s time to get out of dodge city . UNLESS the club has lined up 5-7 class players WHICH I doubt they have why the hell would u stay , the 8 or so class players could earn more elsewhere and play in a better team . I thought sheens would have brought this team together but instead he is ripping it apart , he has players of side and the fans have lost all hope for this year and maybe even next year , I have been a loyal fan since 1969 my kids are all tigers fans but I can’t see any improvement in management or the playing group going forward . Just my view , love my tigers but it’s just getting so hard ,

We lost Tedesco and didn't go backwards. We are dead freaken last. Time will tell if we can get better but we can't get much worse.

The only problem is we also struggle to improve by much at all.
Luke shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence as Teddy they are eons apart as par as talent goes and opposite as personalities go.

Agree and I don't wish him harm but I believe he has been offered close to what he's worth and we should not be paying him overs. If he chooses to leave I wish him bon voyage.

I'm glad brooks has made the decision for us. He's a really difficult one to decide on: has all the skills but poor decision making. Still wouldn't be surprised if he turns into a very good player. Ultimately it's probably a good decision for both the club and him, too much baggage.

It's a shame he never had success here. Obviously he played his own part in that but the club has been directionless since the last sacking of Sheens and with all the shuffling of roles happening in admin and the footy department it's hard to feel confident about what's happening next.

Really need Pascoe and Lee to call time on their roles too. Not sure how many things they can shift before they can be held accountable but it feels like whatever they're doing or trying isn't working.

Anyway, good luck Brooks, will be interesting to see how he goes next.

As for us, well a halfback somewhere will have to sign for us at some point.

Hmm. So he's happy to not play up to standard for big money but, as soon as he has the chance to give back to the club for all it's given him, he leaves. If that's his attitude, he should go, and it explains that he actually didn't care about giving the Tigers value for money.

I highly doubt he was happy not playing well

Brooks will likely head to Canberra you would think to replace wighton
I have so many many stories of Ricky Stuart from his Cronulla days my friend was on his staff he is an absolute C U Next Tuesday if Brett Kimmorley was not good enough Brooks mite be in big
Trouble.

Ricky use to belittle Kimmorley in front of the squad after a loss the half back owns the results in Rickys eyes
