Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Hang on journos, he has rejected the offer and is going to market. Does not mean he is leaving the Tigers, just not happy with 1st offer. I’ll believe it when there are direct quotes from the Club, Brooks or his manager that he is leaving. Could be like Mitchell Moses with Parra.
Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if we shit ourselves and offer top dollar for Luke to be a one club player either.

Of course I'm only speculating but I thought the latest offer to retain Brooks was way below market expectations for a half and his desire to leave is not a surprise.
But but but Paws kept saying Brooks was loyal to the Tigers. Bloke was only ever loyal to a paycheck. It's absolutely no coincidence that his recent form improvement and only decent year of 2018 were contract years.

Under rated how?
It’s not factual!!

2018 was the first year of his new contract - not contract year at all.

These blokes are like an empty vessel - the loudest in the fleet.. but also the emptiest.
Sorry pal, his current four year deal started in 2020 and signed at the beginning of 2019 under Madge after he came available Nov 1 of 2018 (a contract year). 2020, 21, 22 and 23. That's four years. Sorry you cannot count.

What will top this all off will be when Laurie plays 5/8th sets up some tries looks good and then accepts a contract at another club.

Not only can’t we attract a half from another club even of our own has knocked us back.

Lee’s comments said he knocked us back and will look at the market, if Brooks comes back we will go from there. Not we will continue to negotiate. Brooks rejected us.

Deal was signed in 2018...
'Contract year' is known as the year before you have no contract, Not the year before that.
Which was 2019

I can count....
You're just another empty vessel....

Edit**
Funny how this year (His last) is 'Contract Year' but it was the 2nd last year for the last Contract..

You’re not wrong he’s been getting overs for years, not his fault mind you. But as soon as we present a contract in and around his actual worth he’s off.
I’m not fussed if he goes he’s a limited footballer, him forcing our hand to go to market and get a half is probably in our and his best interests.
Despite the fact there’s very little available atm there would be players who’s path is blocked who would jump at the chances Brooks has had.
