Luke Brooks #167

I think the tigers first offer was planed , just like Brooks manager would have said to Luke , low offer coming mate so knock it back straight away , Talk around is your worth $ 500 , but there ant no players available better than you or cheaper , Shit boxes will get $ 500 from the tigers we all know that so bounce the first one and when they comeback and they will with a new 2 years $ 650 / 700 PY. I’ll bounce them And grab another year so $ 650/700 x 3 Y Ok done , keep low key and look sad when TV is on you , PS. Timmy really does want you so alls good , O. And no no other offers

Lol goofy mental gymnastics.

So what your saying is sheens really wanted brooks, but didn’t want to pay him much ( cause brooks is not worth much) and risked loosing him to a rival club ( knowing no other club would take him, cause it’s brooks ) and on top of all this risk had no plan b for the club?

Lol, sheenius.
You deserve more than a “Yes” answer.
I think that the Tigers want him, but within a certain price range, and are prepared to lose him if that price becomes ridiculous.
And there is no evidence that we do not have a Plan B, it’s just that we are not aware of it. I doubt the brains trust would leave the club totally exposed.
But then again …….

There was no plan B with the coaching appointment.

But if he’s only worth so little, and the club is willing to risk loosing him, why bother at all? Just have no offer and handshake goodbyes.

The only way this makes any sense is you’re right to an extent that the club don’t want to sign him, offered peanuts to get the blame off them and hope he is picked up elsewhere. Either way the kid is cooked and I hope to never see him in wests colors again.

This should be tattooed on to anyone in the club involved with recruiting. (Recruiting 101)
Not following this is what caused our mess in the first place.

I think the board is split on Brooks and this influenced their decision to offer a high paying job to Fulton.

As I expected, Sheens moving toward a second offer to Brooks.
Maybe took a punt that no one else really interested in signing Brooks but allowing the market to tell Brooks that.
Second offer about to land. I’m predicting that LB is going nowhere.

You’re over thinking it.
Shenji got the win with Fulton and Fulton probably controlled the offer.
Only way a second offer gets made should be if Brooks actually comes back and starts with the initial one. If we push a 2nd offer it show’s desperation & would be higher which is dumb business management (but typical Wests Tigers).

Brooks offer is a fair one 550k p.a. Anyone talking halfback money hasn’t watched our games for the past decade. I like brooks as a running 5/8 but you can’t pay him like Adam Reynolds, DCE he's just nowhere near the mark.

This is true we can't pay him HB money particularly top HB money because he just isnt one. When you have a top tier HB you still pay mega bucks to keep them, Moses,DCE,Hunt ect ect he doesnt hold a candle to them.
I still think he'll stay might get slightly improved offer only because Benji and Sheens will be driving it, but in terms of his worth he's an average 5/8 what are they worth on the market. He has the pack behind him now and we've only seen a marginal improvement, where he will do ok is with a halves partner that controls the game and takes the pressure off him (not Hastings 🤣)

I don't think anyone is talking about paying him ARey (about 850k) or DCE (about 1.2m). I think those of us who do rate him think about 700k
