Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

As he gets stronger in the gym, he will be a real powerful explosive centre. His pace is ok over a short distance but after 40m-50m, he can be mowed down by faster types. Hopefully does some sprint training to develop this.
Steve Matai and Justin Olam both were/are strong defenders, with an ability to hit a gap at pace, can set their wingers up and are aware of their surrounds. Feledy is fine and as you say will be an explosive type like Matai and Olam. Pair him with a fast winger like he is with Jay Kirk and you have a very good combination. I think both have scored a few tries in the Flegg this year.

Who’s Kit Laulili’i?

Any good?

Kit is a block of granite who does a very good job as a ball playing lock. Plays straight like Elijah Taylor did, but has a build that can terrorise the opposition. For his age im very impressed with his ability to link with the halves. Has some fine tuning to do, but his starting point is great. I have huge hopes for him and think he can debut next year if he works hard.

Is Large a 7? Thought he was meant to be more of a 6 could be wrong though.

Large definitely more of a 6. Out of the two, Fainu is closer to a 7 than Large, but both are running 6s.

Could also see Large moving around positions early in his career similar to Greg Inglis due to his body type/size. Pure athlete who is versatile enough to play centre or fullback if the team needed.

And he is a genuine leader...

I mean this nicely, but Kit and TDS have 'it'. They are well spoken and leaders.

Brooks has never had the personality for leading a side around.

Have a feeling if it’s a trade for Latu Fainu it’ll be Blore or Simpkins - not Talau

Because we have TDS as API’s understudy, makes more sense for it to be Simpkins. Blore imo has a lot of upside and if Bateman’s transition at 13 is real, that left edge spot is vacant.

Win win trade I believe

Ben Hunt will not be at the Dragons next year. Flanagan already chatting to a few players so don't be surprised to hear about some Dragons signings for next year, potentially Chad which opens up the door for Brooks at the cows. Manly are not too happy with how this is all playing out and there is some infighting going on over there (as is usual with teams coached by Seibold).

This is all classic rumour mill stuff but from the same bloke who told me we were getting Klemmer last year. He's still convinced we are getting Frizell but he said that last year too so 🤷‍♂️

- WT are apparently front runners for Latu and Samuela Fainu, after Latu was given permission to look elsewhere for 2024 and beyond. The Fainu’s have a strong relationship with WT recruitment manager Scott Fulton. (DT)

Latu Fainu has also played a lot of school footy with the likes of TDS, Kit Laulili’i and the massive contingent of Westfields boys in WT’s pathway at the moment.

Fainu turned 18 the same week as TDS and has played 6 NSW Cup games this year.
Struggled to find his feet early but over the weekend had 1 try, 1 try assist, 1 forced drop out, 3 line breaks, 5 tackle breaks, 2 offloads and 131 metres at halfback in Cup.

Also looks as Turbo is done for the season, does Manly come knocking for a early Talau release ?
