Luke Brooks #167

Just explain in small words why ??
“ happy for him( coz he’s been wronged), genuinely hope he does well ( coz he’s been wronged )”
Is he that good a guy ?
Just explain in small words why ??
Can only put it down to virtue signaling points for the internet.

Dirtbag half that showed zero loyalty to a side that held his delicate little hand through 11 years of pure trash footy. The guy should have signed for a scratchy and chocolate milk after each game and been thankful for that. Muppet showed his true colours in the end. Just like his previous years/contracts at the Tigers, zero care about the well being of the club, only the cash.

I hope he plays like his usual self in his first game, gets dropped from first grade and never heard from again asides from a pub trivia question in decades to come about the worst NRL player to have ever played 200 games.

Good riddance chump

you better post the link
This is correct. They are taxed differently. It does apply to their salary. Someone on the other forum pointed this out to me. I had a brief read of the link that was posted. From memory it allows players to average their salary over years and delay the payment of tax. I could be wrong but I can’t be bothered finding and reading it again.

no pressure on him there at all
Probably has 2 good years until he starts to lose pace
Nah, he's cooked, hammys have gone, knocking on the door of 30. Will turn into a long term injury, In the next calendar year he will have another injury that will take him out for 10+ games. Dude signed for his pension contract. Will be lucky to play 30 games for Manly across 4 years.

hey meathead… how it that link coming along?
No need for the name calling, anyway its seems you can't google it so I've done it for you, you're welcome

I'll have a go. I see him put in for us... He's never dogged it and he plays with ticker... Yeah he ain't the most talented and I've been very critical of him in the past... But he does play tough and I admire that
"dirt bag"
"pure shit"
"cancer"
He don't deserve that and I hate this online keyboard warrior stuff.
He has copped so much crap... He must be very mentally strong! Another admirable trait... Deserves some good things his way imo

It will be interesting to revisit this thread in 12 months time. If Brooks is struggling to hold his position and Manly are in a similar position to us on the ladder, those who have been saying punt him for years can pull out the I told you so.

If Manly are in the top 8, Brooks going well, others can point out that recruitment around him has been garbage.

Regardless, I expect that barring injury we will be behind them on the ladder next year

Don't bother mate. The vitriol against Brooks is so nasty it comes from scum that aren't worth trying to explain things to.

You can give these types the intelligent information, but unfortunately you can't give them the intelligence to understand it.

My concern now is who is going to be our bagging boy , Brooks gone , someone , yes you all know it , someone is going to cop it next year if we are loosing , but who , who will it be , sounds like a mystery to me , 😂

FFS. Don’t make him read.

Can’t you attach a diagram in crayon??

Congrats to Brooks on the deal.
It’s almost the best setup he could walk into that compliments his game style.

End of an era at the right junction point for Benji to build on now. Interesting to see how the cards fall over the next 2-3 yrs.

Never seen Peaches in a can, Beetroot - Peas and Corn?
The point is, For an everyday job...

And yes, Sports people pay tax differently, Due to the length / nature of careers...
I wanna say it's flat rate, But I'm not 100% certain on that
- But it's closer to... And not like the everyday.

They were put there by a man in a factory downtown.

Admirable summary just totally disagree ink.

Doubtful as I’m very familiar with that injury. Expect him and Api to be back for the last 6-8 games. The hardest part is having the confidence to hit the gas after doing a hammy. Always a bit tentative.

Unless we ship him to Manly early of course.
So please explain why he disappeared last year after having the same injury ( or am I wrong there ) ?
And do we really want/need him back ?
I’m a believer in once you decide to leave a club/ company, whatever, that’s it. No long lingering farewells. I know, cold/callous but imo best in the long run.
Let him sit it out for the balance of the season so WE can all move on.
