Who dropped it?
Very controversial - Hopoate in the short kick off but the ball appears to go backwards. Unlucky to be honest. Mind you, apparently we are a team of nobodies & we’re going to lose by 20+ and get whipped in the 2nd half when we were in front.

I’m all for calling out bad games but seriously?

Luckily the boys or Chops don’t take notice of some of the rubbish on this forum.

Clearly some of the detractors have never been flogged in a game of footy & assume they don’t care. Yes they can play better but it happens.

So much for so called “Supporters” - more like deathriders who can’t wait to bag anyone and anything when things don’t go to plan.

I learnt a long time ago that negativity breeds negativity and this club tends to be full of it.

If this was a small business I’d get rid of these “shareholders” immediately before making any changes with the roster. Whining nobodies bagging young players at will - generally disgraceful.

Fair play to the official IG accounts from the Wests people who obviously were disappointed with last week’s result at Tommy’s Grandstand opening as we all were. No negativity there if you read their posts.

Apologies for the rant - I too, want results.

However, the mindless criticism needs to stop regardless of all our frustrations.

100% it’s funny, the team or player plays good one week, they’re all happy talking them up, play a bad game, they’re the worst player and we need to get rid of them.

I made the comment they should get beat by 20+ and on previous form from the majority of players named in the side, they should have.
It was very pleasing to see some of these players finally have a red hot go and as it turns out they deserved to win the game against an opponent with plenty of NRL experience.
Young Mansfield appears to be a star on the rise and again had some big moments, James is definitely good enough to play NRL and young Hopoate could be a find.

OK - yes, understand. After last week, I was worried also. The boys should have won it against the leaders. Bit unlucky with the call at the death but that’s footy. Still have a chance to make the 6.
15 all with the competition leaders

While winning is good, I'd imagine the coaching staff are monitoring individual performances such as they did with Pole, Tupou and Bula. A team doesn't have to have win the premiership to see the promotion of talented players to the NRL.

Watched the Jersey Flegg highlights, young Jay Kirk looks a good prospect, any Info ?
Wests junior, went to St. Greg’s.

Have never seen much NRL potential in him but he just seems to manage to improve bit by bit, year on year.

He’s already 21 now, so would be a bit of a late bloomer if he was to make it to NRL in the next few years but I can see him being retained on a NSW Cup contract going forward.

The return of Tom Freebairn....thought he left???.....good pickup for NSW Cup team.
@KingRobbie - how is Sione Fainu going? For all the promise and size, i struggle see where he goes. Please tell me he does not command a top 30 spot next year.

Nah, Freebairn has been with Magpies all year, apparently did his ACL not long after last season finished so is just coming back now.

Sione Fainu has been really average (only plays about 25 mins a week, off the bench) from the full games I’ve seen.

He’s contracted to the Top 30 for next year, I reckon if they can get Latu and Samuela, they’ll keep him on to make them happy.

If we land Latu and Samuela there will be no chance Sione goes anywhere in the short to medium term you would think.

On another note, I have heard that Tony Pellow's time at the Magpies is over (as expected)...he has joined Cessnock in the Newcastle Competition.
