Poor old Doueihi had no luck with injury. 3 knee reconstructions and being a young man he must be considering medical retirement. He wants quality of life after his football career and I feel sorry for him this has happened. I'm sure he will make the best decision for himself with the support of family and friends.

Staines is a solid player.. I'd have him in the team over Nofa any day of the week.

I agree Staines should be a keeper, with at least a good competitive offer going his way. Maybe there was complications with his bowel surgery?

What's wrong with Staines? He's hard working, consistent, fast, versatile and played well for us. Sure, none of those things are Tigers DNA but why does club not rate him? Obviously he's a little undersize but there are smaller, less physical wingers out there and this week we're starting kepaoa there, so we're not flush with choices.

I personally believe there is a place for Blore and Staines at the club. The others I am not fussed about at all.

I don't believe Blore was being shopped either, I think he fielded offers from the UK and it got bent out of shape in the media.

600k is a lot of money to just pay someone out. Let alone the remainder of the year. He won’t want to retire so it’s coming off the cap too.

With the players cleared off the books and potential salary cap space in 2023 could we perhaps pay out Douehi’s 2024 contract this year and buy out his contract? Would that free up both cap space and a top 30 position for recruitment in 2024?

Our chairman’s recent comments about the club going on an aggressive recruitment drive was nearly word for word what he said about this time last year when interviewed after the team received a touch up. I wonder if we will hear the same stuff next year
